Since its release in 1964, ‘The Sound Of Silence’ by Simon and Garfunkel has been remade more times than we can count. Some have been serious covers by bands like Disturbed, while others have been hilarious comedy parodies. This hysterical rendition, ‘The Sound Of Sirens,’ was made to address the lockdowns from COVID-19 in the funniest way possible.

David Scott, also known as The Kiffness, made the funniest parody of ‘The Sound Of Silence’ to help people during self-isolation

The Kiffness has made quite the name for himself on social media, his awesome jokes and funny parodies have even warranted him the infamous blue check that so many seek. He made ‘The Sound Of Sirens’ for everyone in lockdown who was experiencing cabin fever.

He changed the words to legendary Simon & Garfunkel song, to words that go perfectly with the song but talk about the pandemic.

“Will this lockdown ever end,

I’ve got itchy feet again,

Cabin fever got me creeping,

out the house while my wife’s sleeping,

made a decision, that I’ll probably make again,

couldn’t abstain, from sneaking out, in silence,

in the streets, I walked alone,

finally was on my own,” this was just the beginning of The Kiffness’s outstanding parody.

Just as funny as the words is the ridiculously funny way he had the video filmed

The Kiffness does such a good job at staying serious during his rendition, he stands in the dark starring into the camera while mouthing the words. I don’t know how he kept a straight face, I would have been laughing for sure.

In the middle of the song, the lyrics get even funnier, when he begins talking about being arrested for walking down the street.

“But found myself in a quandary,

promised my wife I’d do the laundry,

walking back when I saw the flash of blue & red lights,

that split the night,

with the sound of sirens,” the song continues

He even did a parody of Cher’s ‘Believe,’ titled “Do You Believe in Life After Lockdown” where he sports a dress and full makeup.

The end of ‘The Sound Of Sirens’ is by far the best

As the song comes to an end, The Kiffness closes out with some brilliant lyrics that had people everywhere rolling with laughter.

“Realised I had to phone my wife,

don’t think I had it in my heart to say the laundry’s still not done,

I called no one,

so I sat in my cell, in silence,” is how the song ends.
