A sweet and friendly pit bull named Aimee was dealt a rough hand in life. The kind dog was brought into Carson Animal Care Center in California, a high-kill shelter.
The poor dog was scared, and she was also battling a painful skin condition.
Volunteers from the rescue group Saving Carson Shelter Dogs saw Aimee, and they quickly decided that they wanted to help her.
This rescue group films the dogs inside Carson Animal Care Center and posts the videos on their Facebook page.
The publicity has led to many dogs getting adopted.
The rescue group shared a video of Aimee in her kennel. The sweet dog was so excited to have visitors!
“AIMEE is adorable, short and the sweetest little baby! She is super cute and once her skin heals she is going to feel amazing! Please SHARE for her life, she needs a TEMPERAMENT TEST requested IN PERSON by an Interested Party before the Shelter will allow her to be saved,” Saving Carson Shelter Dogs wrote in the description of the video.
Saving Carson Shelter Dogs also shared a few cute photos of Aimee, including one of her sitting on a brightly colored blanket.
The photos and videos of Aimee worked, and just a few days after she arrived at the shelter, a family asked to adopt her!
Saving Carson Shelter Dogs took a video of Aimee’s freedom walk out of the shelter. Since Aimee was so excited, it was more of a freedom run!
Aimee excitedly said hello to all of her new family members, including her mom and dad and her three new brothers. One of the boys held Aimee’s leash as she took her first steps outside.
“AIMMEE (PHOENIX) has to be the cutest little hippo that ever took her FREEDOM RUN out of the Shelter into the arms of her new family! Thanks to all of you SHARING, she is Safe tonight. Happy life AIMEE,” Saving Carson Shelter Dogs.
The video of Aimee leaving the shelter went viral, receiving over 600,000 views. Everyone was touched by her excitement and joy!
“So happy for this precious angel to have a furever home!” one Facebook user wrote.
Aimee is now happily living with her family, where she gets all the attention and cuddles that she deserves. Aimee’s mom, Kim Sullivan, shares lots of photos of Aimee on her Facebook page.
Aimee’s skin condition had cleared up, and she looked happy and content in her new home.
