If we asked what is the best job in the world, many people would answer “zookeeper” or “panda nanny”.
Indeed, there are lots of people who find these jobs easy and rewarding, since they have to do with cute animals and taking care of them.
Of course, like any other job, zookeepers work hard and spend a lot of time doing repetitive things and tiring tasks.
But, we are sure, they forget all the negatives of the job when they cuddle with a baby panda- for instance. But, sometimes, overly-clingy pandas can be a nuisance- if this is even possible- when you have to do your job properly and efficiently.
Something like this happened to a guy working at the Wolong National Nature Reserve in China. The Reserve was established in 1963 and in 1980 China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda was established at Wolong.
Since then, researchers have been studying giant pandas and have managed to breed 66 panda cubs.
One of those cubs stole hearts when a video featuring it was uploaded on YouTube.
In the video, we can see a zookeeper separating bamboo and tossing it on the ground for the pandas to eat, because apparently it’s dinnertime.
However, the baby panda near him has something else in mind.
It seems to think that it’s playtime instead!
So, it pulls the worker’s leg, grabs it and playfully bites it, tries to climb him, or rolls over around him.
The sight is hilarious and adorable at the same time. Even though at some point a stick on the ground distracts it, the baby panda returns to his human friend a moment later, trying to play with him.
The man, on the other hand, doesn’t seem surprised with this turn of events. Maybe the cub has done this before, or maybe he’s just too busy thinking about all the things he has to do after separating the bamboo for the panda bear. In any case, his face lacks any expression, and he doesn’t seem to be in the mood for games.
He just keeps doing his job and every now and then gives a bamboo stick directly to the panda.
When the man finishes his job, he crouches down on the ground with the panda,but , as there’s a pole blocking the view, we can’t possibly know what happens exactly. The man probably pets the baby panda for a while and then tries to explain to him that the time is not right for games now- it’s time to eat!
They can cuddle later on!
This video proves one more time that working with animals- pandas in particular- is a rewarding job and one where no day is the same as the previous one. It’s full of surprises and positive vibes!
The video has gone viral with about eight million views and 69K upvotes. People have commented about how this is a dream job for them and how adorable the little black-and-white guy is!
“Who cares about having a professional job when [you] could have a panda begging for [your] attention,” someone wrote, while someone else tried to explain his behavior: “Panda theory: If hooman stands for more than a min, then it’s not a hooman, It’s a Tree!”
