The little kitty got a little help on his commute to work, when an officer was there to stop traffic.

Why did the cat cross the road? To get to the other side!

Indonesia is known for having some pretty crazy traffic, so it’s safe to assume it’s not an easy place for people to cross the street safely.

That’s why the world has crossing guards! Usually their job is to direct traffic and help students, elderly people and other pedestrians get to where they’re going safely.

But sometimes the job description doesn’t include every detail. I certainly don’t think it covered what to do when a solo animal comes to the crossing.

But this police officer went above and beyond at his job, not just serving and protecting the people of Indonesia… but also the cats.

He stopped traffic and helped our furry little friend cross the road.

It seems like this isn’t the first time these two have had this exchange. The cat is waiting for the police officer’s signals like he’s seen them all before.

He even gives a little meow, like to ask the officer, is it safe to cross?

As if he takes this route on his daily commute to cat-work.

He certainly takes his time making his way across the road. That’s the most cat thing ever.

Entitled. Bold. On his own schedule. Making his way downtown totally unbothered by the motorbikes and buses on the road.

I don’t even have that much confidence in traffic when I walk across the street and I understand the rules of the road. He’s put a lot of confidence in this friendly neighbourhood officer.

Luckily the cat didn’t change his mind half way through and try to go back, or sit right in the middle of the street. Ignore what I said before… that would be the most cat thing ever.

I wonder if his owner knows what kind of adventures like these he gets up to in the middle of the day. Or maybe he’s just a street smart alley cat.

Needless to say, our hero gets the adventurous feline to the other side of the road so he can continue his journey safely.

The police officer’s co-worker took the video, and shared it with the world online.

Naturally, after this was posted, the internet went wild.

Could not agree more. Is there anything cuter than animals doing people things?

The correct answer is no.

Thank you indeed! He’s a treasure. It’s true what they say, not all heroes wear capes.

PLEASE can we get these installed on every street corner, effective immediately. And can someone give this genius a nobel prize?

We need more cat crossings.

And we need those reminders now more than ever! But it’s good to know the world is full of them. In every country, on every street corner.

This is basically how I walk to work when I’m late too.

Starbucks cup in hand. Rolling into the office at my leisure. (Just kidding, please don’t fire me).
