“REAL LIFE: This is what a mommy mental breakdown looks like,” said Sarah Van Sickle Morrow on her Facebook post last April of 2018.

A mom posted on Facebook about what’s it’s like to deal with a toddler’s tantrum and what reality really looked like. Being a mom, Sarah Van Sickle Morrow of Knoxville, Tennessee knew all too well what’s it’s like to deal with a toddler having a tantrum.

If you are a parent, or someone who’s taking take of a child, then you’d know really well what a tantrum is. It won’t come with instructions as any child is different, it certainly won’t give you any warning as well, but we know all too well how frustrating it is to be in this situation.

This mom posted a video where she was teary eyed, obviously tired, and at her wits’ end. We’ve all been there and as parents, sometimes, even if we try out best to instill discipline, even if we try to be really strict with our children, there will be times where these situations happen.

As Sarah pointed out in her video, she’s tired and sick of all those social media posts only showing the “perfect side” of parenthood. She wants to let everyone know that parenthood isn’t a fairy-tale and as much as we love our children, it’s also normal to feel drained out and frustrated.

In her video, we can see Koa, her son who was also frustrated. We can hear him screaming non stop as well.

Sara said Koa even bashed his head on the ground and has bruises on his head.

“I’m so sick of people just showing the perfect side of parenthood on social media, and today was one of the worst days I’ve had as a mom,” she shares in her Facebook.

Surely, we can all relate to this one. It’s about time that people also show what its really like to deal with tantrums, with the non-stop cleaning, and all the things that we do everyday to make sure that we meet the needs of our beloved children.

“I’m tired. Mentally and emotionally drained. Feeling like a failure of a mom. Feeling beyond clueless as to why my child has the world’s worst tantrums for no reason. Feeling guilty for yelling at him and even more guilty for wanting to crawl into a hole and stay there,” she adds to her post.

Can you relate? We sure can!

More importantly, she wants all the moms who can relate to her to understand her message:

“When you feel like you’re going insane, and that you’re a failure as a parent, you just remind yourself that you are doing the best that you can and that you’re normal.”

Her post became viral, with more than 160k shares and 51k comments. Many gave positive and supportive comments on how she is doing her best and that they all relate to what she was feeling that day. There were also some negative comments about how she should have started being strict with her kid and so on.

As a parent, there will be those perfect days but reality is, there are also those not-so-perfect days where we just want to cry and disappear but guess what? Our love for our children is stronger than any frustration and any shortcomings and at the end of the day, we just want to be better for them.
