Parenting doesnโ€™t come with a handbook. With that, itโ€™s hard to say which parents are doing it right and which ones are failing. However, despite that, a lot of people are still shaming parents for the way they are raising and caring for their kids.

A 26-year-old mom from Vancouver, Canada has received so much backlash for the way sheโ€™s dressing up her kids.

Some people are noticing the difference in the clothes her kids are wearing versus her clothes. While sheโ€™s often dressed in heels and beautiful dresses, her kids are often wearing casual pants and shirts.

Fortunately, Caitlin Fladager is one very outspoken mom.

Sheโ€™s not letting such criticism pass without addressing it. Being a mental health advocate and writer, sheโ€™s committed to making people understand the reality of life and being a mother.

Caitlin discussed her reasons for buying her kidsโ€™ clothes at Walmart while she gets her clothes from normal stores.

In a post showing her adorable kids eating their favorite ice cream, she defended her decision and took down internet trolls.

According to her, she made the decision because kids are kids.

They quickly outgrow their clothes while she doesnโ€™t. They also tend to spill food and dirt onto their clothes. They like to play outside and get everything soiled and dirty. Plus, she doesnโ€™t trip over her designer clothes and creates holes in them like her kids do.

The bottom line?

Sheโ€™s not a kid.

Caitlinโ€™s post has gained a lot of positive reactions from fellow parents.

One of them said:

โ€œI am the same way. Donโ€™t ever allow anyone to make you feel less than as a mother. Youโ€™re an amazing mom and you are kicking ass.โ€

Another one commented:

โ€œI buy some of my clothes from Walmart.๐Ÿ˜Š I think a lot of their clothes are cute and who cares anyway. People are so judgmental. Your kids love you and have a good life and thatโ€™s all that matters.โ€

This wasnโ€™t the first time Caitlin was criticized for the way sheโ€™s raising her kids.

She also received an overwhelming amount of backlash after admitting smoking weed around the kids. Contrary to what most people think about the behavior, sheโ€™s using marijuana for her mental health and other health issues.

She shared:

โ€œMarijuana has so many other benefits besides the ones you see in the movies. It has helped me immensely with being a more patient mother, it has helped me gain the weight I needed to, and it has helped my insomniac self, get some well-needed sleep at night.โ€

She even added:

โ€œSmoking while your kids are awake doesnโ€™t make you a bad parent. Some people donโ€™t smoke just to get high. You donโ€™t have to smoke a ton every time. It doesnโ€™t make you lay on the couch all day and ignore your kids.โ€

Not every parent can understand where sheโ€™s coming from.

However, that doesnโ€™t mean that she deserves all the hate for the way sheโ€™s bringing up her children. Even though her ways are a bit different than other moms, it doesnโ€™t mean that sheโ€™s a bad parent. As long as her kids are safe, healthy, and happy, she shouldnโ€™t be judged or criticized. Not all parents are the same.
