This year has truly been exhausting for all of us. We had to deal with a lot of changes at home, at work, and for most parents, even at school. Since the pandemic began, a lot of parents have been working around the clock to make ends meet.
Paige Ward is one of those hardworking moms who is doing her best in dividing her time between her job and four kids. Since she definitely has her hands full between her kids and a demanding urgent care job, it’s understandable that some things might slip through the cracks.
What she didn’t know is that “slip up” has something to do with her 2-year-old daughter and her infamous shirt that has recently gone viral.
She recently told Buzzfeed News that her daughter, Emma, has been a shining light for the family since she was born. Emma is also pretty well known for her hilarious and cheeky personality so one of Paige’s friends made a shirt for her daughter.
The shirt reads “sasshole” as a homage to Emma’s sassy disposition. Emma thought it was super funny, although her daughter only wore it a few times.
Little did she know that the “sasshole” shirt would one day make her daughter famous on social media for all the hilariously wrong reasons.
Recently, Paige has been working for 60 hours a week at an urgent care clinic when she woke up to take Emma to school. The Oklahoma mom was clearly worn-out since her innocent mishap leads to one of the funniest things we’ve seen in a while.
“I woke up that morning exhausted and grabbed the first thing out of her closet I could see, which happened to be the famous ‘sasshole’ shirt,” Paige recalled.
When they arrived at the school, her fiancé noticed some camera equipment outside and thought that it was picture day. Paige told him that she didn’t think so, since she hadn’t been notified.
Two days later, picture day came back to haunt her because it actually happened on that day!
When Emma and her dad arrived home from school, he handed her the hysterical photos and understandably freaked out at first. But then she realized that it was actually funny.
At first, she thought about what other parents would think of her as a mom, but then she said:
“But the entire time I was dying laughing because it just fits Emma’s personality and 2020 so well.”
What’s even funnier is that Emma accidentally covered the crucial first “S” and I think we all know what it reads after.
After getting over the initial shock, Paige decided to have some fun with her hilarious blunder and posted a video on TikTok. The whole TikTok community was dying over the mix-up that instantly went viral.
Of course, you can’t please everyone as some conservative “Karens” attacked Paige by responding that the shirt was inappropriate for Emma even to own. The feisty mom clapped back with another post, saying that the teachers also thought that the shirt was funny.

Paige said that she didn’t expect the post to go viral with over 2 million likes. She recalls that the family has been through some tough times and that Emma always made them happy. Together, they all stayed positive despite all the hardships that life was throwing at them.
“Through the pandemic, we have been struggling to make ends meet, and this was just the comedic relief we have been needing,” she said. “Since Emma has been born, she has been the light through all the darkness.”
