When you marry someone, you marry their whole family. And that’s what Will Seaton did when asked for Ashley Schaus’ hand in marriage… right down to the proposal.

He knew how close Schaus was with her sister Hannah, so he wanted to make her a part of his proposal as well.

Schaus told him right off the bat when they first started dating in 2010 that her sister, who has Down syndrome, was “part of the package,” according to Huffington Post.

“She has Down syndrome and diabetes, and I look after her and protect her” Schaus told FOX 5 Atlanta. “To be with me, you must accept her and lover her as well.”

So, when Seaton proposed and asked Schaus to be his wife last year, he also got down on one knee to ask Hannah if she would be his “best friend for life.”

“Before you knew it, he was down on one knee aksing her [Hannah] to be his best friend forever,” Schaus said. “It was the sweetest moment in my whole life watching Hannah be so happy and feeling so special.”

Hannah got the ring and everything. The whole deal!

When the couple weds in October, Hannah, 15, will be much more than a bridesmaid but the “best sister” and “one-third” of their wedding.

“They will make promises to each other to always care for one another, share secrets, make jokes and go fishing, as that’s one of their favorite things to do together,” Schaus said. “Will and I will share our vows and we all three will walk down the aisle together.”

Seaton and Hannah will even share a special dance to Harry Nilsson’s “Best Friend.”

“When Hannah was born and they told me I had a sister, I never would’ve thought that I would’ve shared my wedding day, my engagement, and my whole life with her, but now, under all the circumstances, I wouldn’t have it any other way,” Schaus said. “I want Hannah right by my side throughout everything and someday in the future, whenever Will and I start a family, I know that Hannah will be a big part of helping raise our child. She will be a great aunt.”

The couple even built their home close to Hannah so they can spend a lot of time with her, but also have their alone time.

“We may not know what the future will hold for Hannah, and I hope that someday she finds a sweet boy, but for now, I am so thankful she got to enjoy that moment that every girl dreams about,” Schaus said.
