With most of the world on lockdown because of the coronavirus, exercise is something thatโs on a lot of peopleโs minds.
While itโs tempting to use our quarantine as a time to just relax in our dressing gownโwith the only exercise being the walk from the couch, to the fridge, to the bedโmany people are starting to think about wiser ways they can use their time.
Home workouts are becoming the new โthing,โ and with celebrities releasing free fitness videos that you can take part in from the comfort of your own home, thereโs never been a better time to dig out that old workout gear and get your heart pumping.
But what if youโre still feeling low on motivation? Well, thatโs where a dog could come in handy.
Meet Sparky the mini bull terrier.
This little guy is somewhat of an internet celebrity, and with that sweet little face, itโs not hard to see why he has over 90,000 followers on Instagram.
Sparkyโs lucky owner, Siamo, has been sharing the duoโs quarantine antics on Instagram. They live in Italy, and as the country is in a strict lockdown, that means plenty of time for fun between Sparky and Siamo.

But you couldnโt exactly say that Sparky was the sportiest of dogs.
Siamo told The Dodo:
โSparky is a lazy boy. He likes to stay with the family and be cuddled.โ
According to his owner, Sparky will often give up in the middle of a walk and lie down. He waits for his dad to pick him up and carry him the rest of the way. We canโt blame him!

But Sparkyโs dad finally found a workout that the pair can take part in together.
In a video posted on Sparkyโs Instagram, you can see Siamo doing push-ups whilst Sparky lies contentedly in front of him. Each time Siamo bends his arms to complete a push-up, he gives Sparky a cheeky kiss on the cheek.
Judging by the big smile on Sparkyโs face, you can tell this pooch is loving this exercise routine! He can be seen stretching happily as he receives his kisses, and is the vision of contentment.
It really is a win-win situation.
Siamo tells The Dodo:
โFor Sparky, working out together is something fun. Usually, he puts himself nearby where he can wait for kisses during our workout.โ
We have to admit, with a dog like Sparky to get us through our quarantine, weโd be a lot more enthusiastic about doing those push-ups!
Siamo told The Dodo:
โIn these days of the quarantine, we are constrained to stay at home and to pass the time we work out together with Sparky. Heโs helping us between the cuddles and kisses to pass the days with serenity and to make us almost forget the emergency in which we are living in Italy.โ
This message goes to show that the love of a dog can help you through anything.
