Pallets are often completely overlooked as building materials. Most of the time, leftover pallets from a construction job are just tossed in the trash. However, with a little creativity, itโs amazing what can be accomplished. Thatโs what hobbyist woodworker, Paul Nowak, from Sheffield, England proved recently when he built an entire bar out of them.
Using discarded pallets and other random scraps of wood, he managed to piece together one of the most beautiful outdoor drinking areas we have ever seen.
Itโs a project that has literally made him famous. What started as just another basic DIY project has turned the man into an international sensation. Nowak shared the photos of his bar on Facebook, and pretty much instantly they started going viral. The Internet is in love with his amazing little pallet palace.

It cost him next to nothing to build it too.
In total, he spent just ยฃ92 ($112), which covered the roofing materials and the paint he used. All of the pallets and crates for the project were acquired for free. His friend who owns a bar also hooked him up with some other basic stuff like bar mats and assorted bar supplies free of charge. That definitely saved him some cash.
โIโd put down some decking in the garden and Iโve always wanted a bar in the garden so I got some pallets and knocked it together,โ Nowak told LADbible.

When Nowak says he โknocked it togetherโ, he means it.
While you might think a project such as this would take weeks or months to complete, in this case, he was able to complete it in just a few short days.
โIt took me a couple of days after I got all the stuff I neededโฆโ said Nowak. โIโve always liked woodwork, I should have done it when I left school but I never did.โ
However, that doesnโt make the outdoor bar any less impressive. Thatโs just the beauty of building with pallets. A lot of the work is already done for you. Creating walls is as simple as attaching the pallets together with a few nails, screws, and other woods scraps. Itโs basically like building with legos, except on a much more massive scale.

What really makes the bar pop though are the decorations.
Nowak affixed all sorts of assorted beer logos to the sides of the structure. In addition, the palletsโ hollow nature makes them perfect for displaying wine bottles. Itโs like they come with built-in shelves.

The atmosphere in the garden is pretty perfect as well for sitting back and cracking open a cold one.
Set up a couple of tiki torches out there, get some music blasting, and we imagine you could have quite a party.

Nowak also mentioned that itโs a good spot for some casual outdoor day drinking and barbecues with the buddies.
โWhen people come around we all just sit up there. Itโs just a bit different, and itโs good for barbecues, especially in this weather,โ said Nowak.

While this is the first bar he has ever done, Nowak hopes to do many more in the future. With the amount of attention he is getting from his first project, we imagine it could even end up being a possible business for him, turning his hobby into a full-time career.
There are plenty of people out there who would love to have a little pallet bar of their own out behind their house. For starters, you can add our name to the list. In the meantime though, we suppose weโll just have to crash the party at Nowakโs place.
