Who says you have to be a kid to love treehouses? Master builder, Lionel Buckett, sure doesn’t think they’re just for children. He’s the creator of an award-winning treehouse located in the Blue Mountains of Australia.
If you’re someone who grew up wishing you had a fort, Buckett’s elevated cabin is like a fantasy come to life. Only this treehouse is on an entirely different level (literally).

When you think of a treehouse, you might envision the one you had as a kid (if you were so lucky). It was probably one room made of boards, with a ladder coming down.
Buckett’s version is slightly more upscale. It overlooks the lush rainforest and is surrounded by hundreds of acres of beauty. In fact, it sits between two Australian national parks.

If you’re not one for heights or stairs be warned. The treehouse is perched dozens of feet in the air, giving it views that will take your breath away.
One of the reasons Buckett actually selected the turpentine tree was because of the spectacular view it would create. He told New Atlas (formerly known as Gizmag):
“I searched and searched here to find a good tree, one that’s gonna last a long time, and a place with a great view. The view is just stunning from up there.”

So what’s inside this treehouse nest? The designer didn’t hold back any luxuries, that’s for sure. There’s a comfortable sleeping area, fireplace, spa, and even a shower that will have you glued to the outdoor sights.
In Buckett’s interview with New Atlas he said:
“It’s an amazing place to have a shower in a lightning storm – there’s glass all around.”

If you’re a fan of nature you’re sure to get your fill in this masterpiece treehouse. The tranquil sounds of rushing water can be heard coming from a nearby ravine and waterfall, which are also available to enjoy up close.

All the sights around Buckett’s cabin are magnificent. From the cliffs to the sprawling forests, to even all the flying wildlife that can be seen – it’s not your typical destination. Try and imagine what beautiful skies you’d see from these heights.
The treehouse cabin took two years to build, but the results seem to be very worth it. Believe it or not, it’s actually a property that’s been listed on Love Cabins and Airbnb as a rental! In 2016, Buckett even took home the “International Airbnb Belo Award for Best Place.”

Since Buckett built his treehouse it’s been featured on television programs and in magazines from all over the world. People have also expressed their opinions online about the property.
One nature lover wrote on YouTube:
“Beautiful! What a wonderful life! I would be in heaven if I lived like that. I love trees, wood, rocks and water! Wonderful good cool water, swimming, submersed, drenched, rain, puddles – all of it. Thank you for sharing – you are an inspiration to me. I need to find my spot in this world.”

Other people were also quite impressed by the treehouse. One commented:
“This is definitely one of the most wonderful places I have ever seen! Thank you so much for showing it to us!”
