The world can be a scary place when you’re only two weeks old.
For the first two weeks of their lives, a newborn puppy will simply sleep and eat. But around the two-week marker, everything begins to change. They discover how to see, hear and walk, which must be pretty overwhelming to experience for the first time!
Naturally, at this age, a puppy is still very much attached to their mama. So when mom seemingly goes missing, it could be time to go into panic mode.
That’s exactly what happened in a video we stumbled across on YouTube. The video films a pen full of adorable two-week-old golden retriever puppies- which if you ask us, is enough of an incentive to watch the video in the first place.
When mom leaves the pen, only to return a few minutes later, most of the puppies are glad to see her again. But one sweet little pup has some more trouble in finding his mom- and we just want to give him a big cuddle.
The video was posted onto YouTube by the puppy’s owner and is captioned:
‘Really cute moment I captured of Jimbo (white collar) and his mom when he was two weeks old. Six weeks later, we ended up bringing him home :)’
Unsurprisingly, this sweet moment ended up drawing in over one million viewers all over the world as well as 16k likes, making Jimbo the pup a little celebrity! Who could blame them when this video is simply so adorable?
Poor little Jimbo has got himself into a right tizzle. His mom has left the pen (probably for 5 minutes of much-needed peace and quiet), but while the other pups get on happily with their puppy lives, Jimbo quickly becomes frantic. He is separated from the rest of the group, and crawls around on his belly, whining for mom.
Thankfully, the doting mama soon hears her puppy’s cries and quickly comes back into pen. All of the others crowd around her excitedly, happy to see her return – but poor little Jimbo is still looking totally lost!
He can clearly smell that his mom has returned, but he can’t for the life of him figure out where she is! He turns around in a circle and cries out in distress.
Although Jimbo can open his eyes, a puppy’s vision doesn’t normally become clear until around eight weeks old. So we can understand why poor little Jimbo is feeling so scared!
Luckily, Jimbo’s mom is soon on hand to reassure her baby. After waiting a couple of minutes to see if he will come to her, she eventually gets up and walks over to him. As soon as he feels the warmth of her presence, he visibly relaxes.
The other pups follow suit and everyone snuggles up in Jimbo’s corner.
Now that he has been reunited with his mom, Jimbo is a changed pup. He is no longer anxious and seems completely content as he cozies up with her and the other pups. Watch the adorable video for yourself below- but warning: you will 100% want a puppy after watching this!
