It all started when a strange man began spontaneously dancing in the Piazza Cordusio square in Milan, Italy a few years back. At first, no one had any idea what was going on.
A lady sitting on a bench nearby was among the first to spot the guy and his unusual dance moves.
Judging by the look on her face, she was pretty confused. On one hand, the situation was kind of amusing. However, the truth is that most people probably thought the man was crazy. What kind of person in their right mind would just start randomly rocking out in public like that?
People largely ignored the man, until all of a sudden, another woman nearby joined in on the dancing too.
One random dancing man could just be written off as a fluke, but two random dancers out in the square performing? Nope, something special was going on. The song “Marry You” by Bruno Mars began playing loudly in the background, and the two were immediately joined by about a dozen other individuals.
The moves of the group were all completely synchronized and choreographed to the music.
That’s when the crowds in the square really realized what was going on. It was a flash mob! The romantic gestures and hand motions of the dancers fit perfectly with the lyrics of the song.
“It’s a beautiful night, we’re looking for something dumb to do
Hey baby, I think I wanna marry you
Is it the look in your eyes, or is it this dancing juice
Who cares baby, I think I wanna marry you”
The pedestrians in the area couldn’t help but stop and stare. We don’t blame them as the whole show was pretty awesome to watch.
However, the dance wasn’t even the biggest part of the surprise.
Remember that woman sitting on the bench at the start of the performance?
Well, the crazy dancing man eventually walked right up to her and grabbed her by the hand. The dancers all gathered around the two throwing rose petals up in the air. The man then got down on one knee, pulled a ring out of his coat jacket, and instantly, the woman from the bench broke into tears.
It turns out, she was the man’s girlfriend and the whole flash mob was actually part of an elaborate marriage proposal.
With love in her eyes, the woman reached out and gave the man a big kiss. She said yes! It was one of the most emotional flash mob’s we have ever seen.
Everyone in the square that day was so surprised, but really, no one was more shocked than the girlfriend. She couldn’t believe it. At first, she thought her boyfriend was just doing some goofy stunt, but when she discovered the real reason behind his crazy performance, she was blown away.
It’s a story that the now engaged couple will be talking about for many years to come. We wish them the best of luck, but honestly, we don’t think they’ll need it. With such a romantic start to their future as a married couple, how could things not work out? The video of their beautiful proposal is something they will be able to keep forever to remind them of that special day.
