On November 21st, Goldie Hawn got a very special surprise celebration for her milestone birthday at the premiere of her new movie surrounded by her partner Kurt Russell and the cast of their upcoming Netflix movie.
They shared a sweet moment on stage as Russell surprised his long time partner for her 75th birthday at their premiere.
At the Grove Mall in Lose Angeles, Russell decided to surprise his partner of over 37 years at the premiere, a drive-in event, of the movie they are co-starring in called The Christmas Chronicles: Part II.
Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell costar as Mr. and Mrs. Claus, which will be the fifth time they’ve starred in a movie together since Swing Shift in 1984.
For the surprise, they showed Hawn a montage of her co-stars wishing her a Happy 75th Birthday via pre-recorded videos as well as bringing out a delicious cake, sharing a sweet moment with a sweet treat.
The cast and production team only speak highly of the two’s performance on screen.
As her costars, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Tyrese Gibson, and film director Chris Columbus gave their speeches, they only had amazing things to say about Goldie,
“the best Mrs. Claus in cinema history.” – Chris Columbus Film’s Director
“We’re so privileged to have you in our world. An incredibly gifted comedic actress, a great dramatic actress” – Tyrese Gibson
Other production members also had some wonderful words to say about Russell’s performance as Mr. Claus,
“I like your approach to these characters because you take them seriously…This is not a caricature or a cartoon.” – Tracy Smith
These two are surely creating magic on and off the screen.
They first met on the set of the Disney musical, “The One and Only Genuine Original Family Band” in 1968. Back then Russell was only 15 years old and Hawn was 20 years old, to which she claims she was busy dating older guys.
When they met again on the set of Swing Shift, both were divorced but it is reported neither were looking for love at the time. Russell recalls the moment he met Goldie to CBS News stating,
“Matter of fact, when I met Goldie, I was at a time in my life and a period of my life where I was very definitely gonna put my worst foot forward when it came to any kind of a relationship, or the possibility of a relationship…I put my worst foot forward. If you can handle that, then maybe there’s a chance of some reality there being together.”
To which Goldie responded,
“You put your worst foot forward? I could hardly say that…I would say if you’d done that with me I wouldn’t be with you today.”
What was it exactly Russell thought wasn’t his best foot forward?
He continues that when he met Hawn he was actually horribly hungover!
Must not have been too bad of a foot, since the two have shared a loving 35+ years together with four children between them and six grandchildren.
They share their secret to their long-lasting relationship- simply wanting to be together.
When CBS News inquired about the secret to a long-lasting, loving relationship both their responses show just how they lasted nearly four decades together. Hawn started to answer first by saying,
“There’s no secret…And I love you for asking that question because it’s a normal question. But there’s two things, for me, anyway. And it’s that you both wanna be together. I mean, you’ve gotta want to be together. And as long as you … why are you laughing?”
Then Russell, giggling, responds,
“Just because it’s, you’re right. It’s up and down, it’s sideways, it’s whatever. At the end of the day, how do you explain it? I don’t know! I guess it’s as simple as saying, for me, it’s the same thing as what you’re saying. I call that love.”

Both movies are available on Netflix and quickly moved to the top 10 trending in the U.S.
This will be the second installment of the Christmas Chronicles with the first having been released in 2018. Part 2 will feature Kate Pierce who runs away, ending up in the North Pole unhappy over her mother’s new relationship and finds an elf trying to cancel Christmas.
Both movies, The Christmas Chronicles and The Christmas Chronicles: Part II are available on Netflix and charting on Top #10 in the United States.

Goldie Hawn finished her interview with CBS News with some wise words for thought about how she believes to keep a relationship that lasts and appreciating the family you build with your loved one,
“But you can actually survive a relationship in a way that when you get older you go, ‘Ah, I’m so glad I got through whatever period that was…Do you know what I mean? Because the relationships go through periods, sometimes really hard times. But there’s nothing sweeter than having a family, and that is worth everything.”
