Everyone dreams of having an updated modern-looking kitchen. But that doesn’t mean you have to gut your kitchen, fill it with brand new appliances, and hire a set of professionals to do the work.
You can completely make over your kitchen and give it a brand new look without breaking the bank.
Here’s what the Green Room kitchen looked like at The Rachel Ray Show before it was made over.
The room was completely transformed after they did the following:
Paint Your Laminate Cabins
You can have beautiful new cabinets in your home, while still enjoying the ability to clean them easily. All you have to do is sand down your laminate cabinets and prime them.
Then, paint them a brand new color. Just make sure that you’re using a paint with a satin or semi-gloss finish.
Makeover Your Fixtures
Make your fixtures look bold, sleek and expensive by spray painting them with a paint that is metallic safe, made to use indoors and outdoors, and is also a primer. Make sure to protect areas that you don’t want to be covered in spray paint.
Shelf Makeover
Giving yourself brand new shelves couldn’t be any easier. Just cover them with some peel and stick contact paper. This protects your original shelving and covers old beat up shelving. You can get contact paper in all sorts of designs, colors, and finishes.
Shelving Backsplash
Make your shelving pop by adding some peel and stick wall over covering to the back of your shelves.
Faux Custome Cabinets
Custome cabinets can cost a pretty penny, but not these. All you have to do to give your cabinets a custom look is to buy some inexpensive trim and add it around the edges of your cabinets. Make sure you prime your cabinets before your install and paint your trim.
Change Out the Hardware
Adding some new knobs to your kitchen can completely change its entire look.
Make New Wood Look Old
If you want to give your kitchen some character, you can age your new wood. To do this, just paint your wood with a gray wash. Instant aging!
Faux Textured Walls
Would you love to have a brick or textured wall finish in your kitchen? You can with peel and stick brick or other wall finishes.
Add Wood Veneer
Adding wood veneer is also super easy and inexpensive these days when you’re using the type that you can just Velcro on. Yes, we said Velcro. So easy that a child can do it.
