The harrowing events were caught on camera and the video has since been released by the state police. It is a video that will definitely make you hold on to your seats.

The said Buick was swerving across three lanes as it zoomed through I-75 with hazard lights flashing.

If one is right behind the SUV, one can tell that the driver is either drunk or grossly inexperienced. It turns out it is the latter.

What surprised authorities was the audacity of the driver to disregard their sirens. Police cruisers followed the vehicle as the driver was ignoring all attempts to bring his joyride to a stop.

Luckily, a vehicle security company was there to assist the state police.

The car was wired to the OnStar security system which helped authorities identify and locate the vehicle. The system tagged the car as stolen and provided necessary details to the police such as the current speed of the car and the direction it was heading.

The system also triggered the car to stop through a remote disable command. The SUV then began to slow down to a halt.

The driver then pulled over to the side then hit the guard rails before it came to a halt.

The police were surprised when a 10-year-old boy jumped out of the vehicle and ran toward the nearby woods. The police chased after the kid and managed to apprehend him.

The boy was staying with relatives at the time of the pursuit. His mother, the one he wanted to see, was in Detroit, about 100 miles from where he is.

The child was taken and held at the Saginaw County Juvenile Detention Center.

He was released shortly after several days. The boy is facing multiple cases including single counts of unlawfully driving away from a motor vehicle, fourth-degree fleeing and eluding officers, and assaulting, resisting, or obstructing the police.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. The car also just had minor damage when it hit the guard rail.

People all over the internet were also perplexed as to what happened.

“Where was the adult that was supposed to be supervising? Why did the kid want to see his mother so badly he steal a car? There’s a lot more information here that would be good to find out.” Said one commenter.

“Why is this child’s living situation not being looked into?” said another, “They feared the consequences of what they were doing but deemed it worth it to get to their mother. This could very well be a cry for help that is being ignored.”
