Drama Queens come in many shapes and sizes, but this supersized Great Dane takes the melodrama to a whole new level. This super jealous doggy attempts to express his displeasure when his owner cuddles up to the latest hot thing… a puppy.
When this young lady comes face to face with the oversized pooch, she knows just what to say. And it shows that this Great Dane’s tragic acting is all hat and no cattle.
Bagheera the Great Dane
This Great Dane is truly the king of the household, even though he is a drama queen. According to the American Kennel Club, Great Danes can reach 32 inches at the shoulders and as demonstrated in this video, they can tower over people when standing on their hind legs.

What’s in a Name?
According to the original Facebook post, the puppy’s name is Baloo. Anyone who’s heard of Rudyard Kipling’s collection of stories, The Jungle Book will know Baloo and Bagheera are characters from the book. In the beloved stories, Bagheera is the panther who mentors and protects the wolf-raised, feral child, Mowgli. And Ballo is the sleepy old bear that mentors Mowgli in the ways of the jungle.
What is Jealousy?
According to Psychology Today, jealousy is …
“most typically aroused when a person perceives a threat to a valued relationship from a third party. The threat may be real or imagined.”
This big dog is experiencing these big emotions, big time. She must be thinking that this puppy is going to interfere with her own relationship with her owner. And looking at this adorable little puppy, her concerns may be true. I mean, who can resist a brand new puppy?
The Jealousy Playbook
Bagheera jumps up and plants his paws on his owner’s shoulders, then gets right in her face and looks her in the eye. It looks like Bagheera’s owner has been studying up on how to deal with a jealous person. Psychology Today has a great article on the subject.
“You should realize that your partner’s jealousy isn’t about you; it’s about them. Respond to expressions of jealousy by reassuring your partner of your love. “
She reassures Bagheera that it’s alright for her to pet this new puppy.
“So Dramatic”
Psychology Today has another strong message for Bagheera, and his jealous tendencies.
“But when you get jealous over “stupid things,” you’re not showing love; you’re revealing your own insecurities.”
She makes sure to let Bagheera know she still has love for the old dog and that seems to satisfy this gentle giant.
