Husky says “no” loud and clear when owner says it’s time to go in the kennel

If you’re a pet owner, you’ll know that trying to discipline your furry friend can be a bit of a nightmare. Animals are too cute for their own good, and it’s hard to resist their adorable faces, even when they’ve done something a bit naughty.

But oftentimes, putting your foot down is important. Our pets need to learn who’s boss, or we’re opening our home up to all sorts of animal madness.

One dog breed that’s known in particular for being stubborn is the husky. Huskies are vocal, intelligent animals, and they aren’t shy of throwing a tantrum or two when they don’t get their own way. They need owners who can firmly train them and stay consistent with the rules, as they tend to break the rules more frequently if they know they can get away with it.

One of the best recorded examples of a stubborn husky has made its way onto YouTube, where it has racked up more than 20 million views and counting. In the video, an 11-month-old husky named Blaze is lying on the floor in his living room while his owner tells him it’s time to go to his kennel. Blaze refuses to move – but not only that, it genuinely sounds as if he’s saying “no”!

The video starts with Blaze’s human dad gently nudging him and saying,

“Come on, it’s time to go in the kennel.”

In response, Blaze makes a low noise that sounds a bit like a cow’s moo. It’s clear already that he’s not happy with his dad’s decision to move.

Dad tries again, saying,

“Come on. Come on. It’s time to go in the kennel.”

To this, Blaze opens his mouth to respond – and says “no”, loudly and clearly. It’s so obvious and human that the person filming from behind the camera lets out a snort of laughter.

Dad keeps pushing, trying to get his dog onto his feet. But the more dad prompts him, the more lifeless Blaze becomes. He lies stubbornly on his side, repeating “no” and grunting a few times for good measure.

With still no proper response from hid dog, dad has to get a bit pushier. He gets hold of Blaze with both hands and attempts to push him to his feet, again telling him that it’s time to go to the kennel.

Blaze’s “no”s get even more insistent at this. He’s not just grunting “no” anymore – he’s shouting it with attitude!

Things get even more heated when dad moves his hand to Blaze’s belly, and Blaze wriggles his whole body and peddles his back legs to get dad away.

Bless him – he must really love spending time indoors with his humans. Hanging out in his kennel seems like the worst idea in the world to him.

Dad continues to try in vain, saying,

“Come on, you love your kennel. Come on.”

But it’s clear he isn’t getting anywhere! By the time the video ends, Blaze is still protesting, and dad is still trying to get him to move.

We never will know whether Blaze made it into his kennel that day, but kudos to dad for staying as stubborn as his dog! And the video certainly gave Blaze plenty of online attention.
