One of the many reasons that dogs are great is that they don’t hold grudges – at least not for long.
They might pout, they might look away, they might even whine, but as soon as you give them what they want, they’re your best friend all over again.
Now, Mya the Husky’s pout session was instigated by what she perceived as a very unpleasant insult – being sprayed for fleas. She hated it. And she wanted mom to know.
So mad
According to Rumble, who purchased the video from Mya’s owner: “After her owner was done spraying her, she ran away and lay down with her face turned away from the owner. Now she won’t even acknowledge her calling her name!”
Oh, snap. We know huskies are drama queens, but that’s a pretty impressive response for a dog.
According to Canna-Pet, “Siberian Huskies have an independent temperament and are not always so eager to please. They can be very willful at times and must be consistently shown that their owners mean what they say.”
For over a minute, Mya was able to hold out and ignore her mom.
Mom knows the secret
It’s clear that Mya’s owner knows her well. And just like a toddler in a bad mood, there’s a good chance the dog can be brought out of its funk with a little trick.
The thing is, Mya has a favorite song – “Tomorrow” from the musical Annie.
“Are you going to look at me, Mya. Mya, tomorrow I love you…,” she says.
And that makes the dog’s ears perk up.
This adorably mad pup just can’t resist her favorite song! In fact, Mya likes to sing along. And her mom doesn’t even get to finish the first verse before the dog jumps in.
She has a weak spot, but she still looks irked.
That’s love
If you listen very closely, you can hear that when the line “I love yah, tomorrow” comes, Mya joins in with a faint, but audible “I love you” and a few seconds later the dog begrudgingly looks towards her. She’s so cute. She really wants to come out of her funk, but she’s going to need some more buttering up.
“Huskies seem to have the most complicated personalities, they constantly fascinate me,” said a commenter of Mya’s behavior.
Then mom starts singing in earnest.
Soon, the pouty little dog starts to sing along! Mya just can’t resist her favorite tune.
“Dog finally caves saying “That’s my jam,if anyone is going to sing it, it’s me,” joked a viewer.
Once her mom got her singing, forgiveness was surely on the way.
It just took a few more verses and Mya’s head starts to swing around.
“Mya is adorable…she’s trying so hard to be mad, but can’t resist her favorite song!! Too funny!!”
Finally, Mya caves in and turns to howl the final lines of the song. So sweet!
But this grudge is going to last a bit. So as we leave Mya, she’s back to pouting. At least until the treats come out.
