Women like to feel beautiful. There’s just no getting around it.
As a result of this female penchant towards beauty, Statista reports that, as of 2016, the U.S. cosmetic industry is estimated to be worth about 62.4 billion dollars— and that success isn’t about to stop anytime soon.
Numerous YouTube beauty vloggers have been taking advantage of the makeup industry’s success, uploading various videos, including product reviews and makeup tutorials. Daily Mail reports that 4 out every 10 women are partaking in online beauty culture— be it by reading guru blogs or watching beauty videos.
While YouTube is jam-packed with this type of content, KLN Beauty took a different approach by letting a woman’s husband narrate her makeup routine—with results sweeter than you could ever imagine!
The video basically consists of the husband recounting memories and feelings associated with each product his wife is using. He begins by explaining, “I’ve always thought she was naturally beautiful, but since she’s gotten into using her makeup a lot more, I definitely see that there’s a side of fun and creativity that she gets to explore.”
Viewers get to see the woman applying her eye makeup as the husband adorably reveals: “She knows that my favorite color on her eyes is purple, and I think she chooses it on purpose most of the time.”
As his wife moves on to lipstick, the man recounts a beautiful memory with an honesty that is too touching for words:
“Every time she wears red lips, there’s something very nostalgic to me about it. It takes me back to that breathtaking girl walking towards me in a red dress in a white-washed chapel, with those stunning red lips smiling my way. I couldn’t believe it was actually happening. I felt like the luckiest boy in the world— and after all these years, I still do.”
There are many of these sweet moments as the woman applies her products— but the video somehow gets even better when she takes it all off.
Poetically, her husband muses:
“Take it all away, and what I love most of all is who she is. That’s the real beauty: the beauty behind the exquisite colors and the careful brush strokes. See, the colors and the shades only reveal something deeper to me. They act as a window shutter opening to reveal the light and the colors of her world to everyone that she meets. She can wipe it all away, and I can still feel her heart shining on me like the sunshine on the perfect day at the beach. The kind of day that changes your perspective on light and reminds you of the joy and the warmth in the world. The kind of day you wish would never end… Yeah, she’s that kind of beautiful.”
