Picking out birthday gifts for your loved ones is either super easy or super hard. Some family members are nearly impossible to buy for. They might be picky, already have everything, or you cannot find that perfect gift they deserve. Whereas, buying gifts for other family members is the easiest thing to do on your to-do list.

This family went small to go big for their loved oneโs birthday.
A lucky fella named Doug was surprised with the perfect, but tiny gift and he did not see it coming. When his 46th birthday rolled around, his wife brought him into a room with just a small wooden box in it. Doug is so sweet and genuinely nice that he thought the box was the gift itself! He was completely okay with the box being the gift too, but he was in for more than a box.
โIโm not just giving you the box Iโm taking the box back honeyโ-
โYou are?โ Doug jokes with a shocked face โโฆwell then Iโm not gonna open it!โ
Well obviously Doug is quite the joker, but the jokeโs on him, in a very good way.
When he does eventually turn the box and open it, he wasnโt sure what to expect. What kind of gift would be presented in a wooden box, which isnโt even part of the gift?
Pulling out two items, he doesnโt yet know what to make of them.
With a small collar in one hand, and a picture frame in the other Doug begins putting the pieces together. On the collar is a tag with the name โStellaโ and Dougโs phone number. He repeats โStellaโ multiple times as if he is in shock. In the frame is a picture of Dougโs wife and step-daughter, holding a 3-week-old golden retriever. You donโt need to be Sherlock Holmes to solve this case, but Doug seems to still need a bit of convincing.
โThatโs Stella!โ Dougโs Wife says when Doug asks who the pup is in the picture.
โStella?โ No Marlon, this isnโt A Streetcar Named Desire, this is A Birthday Boy Named Doug, and youโre about to receive your gift. Look at how Dougโs face lights up when he finally comes to terms with whatโs happening!
Dougโs step-son emerges with Stella in hand, a sweet little golden retriever pup who is to about to meet her new best friend, Doug.
Doug is handed the puppy, and still seems blown away. Whether or not Doug had been asking for a puppy is unclear, but what is clear is that itโs definitely something that he wants.
Already Doug and dog are close and waste no time getting cuddles started.
Stella wags her tail happily in Dougโs arms, already comfortable around him. Stella gets close to let him know they are about to have a great future together.
Stella gives Doug a few exploratory licks, and already seems to feel at home with him.
Doug is beaming with excitement. He remains in disbelief, stunned but ecstatic. Dougโs reaction is so pure it pulls at the heartstrings. Stella lived with the family for over 10 years, but given that this video was shot probably around 2004 according to one particularly investigative viewer, she has sadly since passed away at a happy old age. This video is a joyful memorial to the day that Doug met his best friend.
