When a woman named Angel Janes was driving home, she spotted a homeless sitting by the highway. At first, she didnโt think much of what she saw โ until she noticed something on his lap. Angel pulled over to learn more, and soon, she realized that this man was one of the most kindhearted people sheโd ever met.
It was at this point that she noticed something in his lap.
The man, named Ron, took the cigarette and she saw that he was clutching a tiny chihuahua in his lap, wrapped in a blanket. He was trying his best to keep the little dog warm.
Angel was in awe of the manโs care and attention to the small dog. Angel spoke with Ron for a while and soon, he asked her if sheโd be able to give the dog a good home.

Ron explained that he saw the dog dumped on the highway two hours earlier.
Ron told Angel that he saw a woman dumping her dog on the busy thoroughfare and was afraid the dog would get hit by a car. He immediately ran over and scooped the little dog off the dangerous highway.
โJust in this brief time we spoke, I was inspired by this heartfelt person,โ Angel told The Dodo. โHe was just trying to do right so this dog โwasnโt homeless like me.'โ
Even though the dog was safe with Ron for now, he knew that he couldnโt take care of the little chihuahua.
Sadly, Angel wasnโt in a position to take the abandoned dog home, but she wanted to do everything she could to help. She shared the story on Facebook and it wasnโt long before a woman named Kathleen Dallman shared the post and detailed where Ron and the dog were located.
Soon, a lady was on her way to pick the Chihuahua up.
โA few minutes after I posted it, a lady was on her way to pick up the dog to foster him,โ Kathleen told The Dodo. โShe offered Ron $50 as a show of her gratitude for keeping him safe. He said, โNo, I just wanted to do the right thing.โ But she insisted he take it.โ
When the woman arrived to pick up the chihuahua, it moved Ron to tears.
โHe was in tears because he was able to help the dog find a home,โ Kathleen said. โHe said he knew what it was like to be homeless, and he didnโt want the dog to be homeless.โ
The woman who picked up the dog was willing to foster the dog until she could find him a permanent home. It wasnโt long before Chasity Guyer, and her daughter wanted to bring the little dog into her home. She adopted him and named him Lucky Louie.
Now, little Lucky Louie has a dream life.
Heโs safe, happy, and very, very loved. But Kathleen couldnโt stop thinking about Ron.
โI was so happy that things had worked out for the dog, but I couldnโt stop thinking about Ron,โ she said. โHe didnโt even have a place for himself. So, I started a GoFundMe page for him. I didnโt know if anyone would donate, but after getting the word out, it got up to $500.โ
โHe was in tears,โ Kathleen said. โHe couldnโt believe that the community would do something so nice for him. When I handed him the money, he wanted some of it to go to the dogโs care. But I told him it was just for him.โ
Ron told Kathleen that he was dealing with some hard times and this money was a life-changer. He was able to get off the street that night and purchase a cell phone to look for job opportunities. His kind actions are still bringing in peopleโs donations, so we hope he gets back on his feet very soon.
โNow that he has a phone, weโre able to get in touch,โ Kathleen said. โHe really wants to get a job. Like the dog, everyone deserves a second chance at life.โ
Weโre so glad \that Lucky Louie is in his forever home, and itโs also wonderful that Kathleen went above and beyond to help Ron. What a wonderful story about second chances!
