We all fall on hard times. It’s a fact of life that we can’t escape.

Though life itself can be difficult, it can also be fulfilling and full of hope as well.

When we run into unfortunate and unforeseen circumstances, it always seems a bit more tolerable when there is somebody by our side.

A companion, if you will.

Take Anthony Rogers and his dog, Bobo for instance.

Roger and Bobo are homeless and live on the streets of Memphis, Tennessee. Rogers rescued Bobo, a pitbull-labrador mix, from a drug house when he was just a pup.

Now, the two are fixtures in the community.

But Rogers came upon some “devasting life events” that put a significant strain on his financial wellbeing and he eventually became homeless.

Rogers is an artist and like many artists, face an uphill battle when seeking to make your craft the main source of income. He and Bob are often spotted outside their local Starbucks where Rogers has his art for sale.

The two have been inseparable since they came into each other’s lives.

But things took an unfortunate turn when Rogers woke up on August 31st to find that Bobo was not there.

Rogers was distraught. He called on some friends to help him in his search for Bobo.

They looked everywhere. They even had flyers made with the photo of Bobo and a number to call if anyone had any information about his whereabouts.

Rogers was full of worry. Bobo was only a year old. Even though the two lived on the streets, Bobo was still a pup who relied on Rogers for food everyday.

For two weeks, Rogers and his friends continued to look for Bobo. Nothing turned up until September 11.

A dog wandered into Memphis Animal Services (MAS) matching the description of the dog on the flyer. Fortunately, an employee, Emily, immediately recognized him as Bobo.

Emily called the number on the poster.

In turn, one of Roger’s friends gave him a ride to MAS where Emily and her coworkers were holding him.

There was never any doubt that Bobo missed his best friend. As soon as he is brought to him, Bobo jumps excitedly over and around a seated Rogers.

It’s unclear what led Bobo astray that night but one thing seems clear, Bobo may not leave Roger’s side again.

To make things a bit easier for Rogers, MAS provided him and Bobo with some parting gifts.

On their Facebook page, MAS wrote a caption on the video they posted:

“Today Bobo got neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, and we found out he was heartworm negative. We sent him back to Anthony with a year’s supply of heartworm prevention, a bag of dog food, and a harness, leash, collar, and ID tag.”

The video has 133,000 views and over 1,000 reactions.

The reunion warmed the hearts of many.

A few of the comments read:

“Tears of joy that he found his Bobo!”

“What a happy dog!!! And what a wonderful ending!”

“Happy tears!! Let’s get the city to rally around Anthony too”

Although Bobo and Rogers have been homeless, they found a home in each other.
