While many girls dream of being crowned their school’s Homecoming Queen, not all of them would then turn and give that crown away.
But that’s exactly what happened at S&S High School in Sadler, Texas after Trinity Arrington was announced as the winner. In front of everyone, she made a bold move that her “sweet friend” Emily Petty will never forget.

Trinity and Emily are both seniors at their school and have been friends for nearly a year now.
They met after Trinity started visiting the special ed room during her lunches, which is where Emily (who was born with Down syndrome) would be.
Quickly their relationship grew. The girls developed such a close bond that when Meredith McCown from News 12 spoke with them, Emily said:
“I love her every day.”

Then one day Trinity and Emily each received the same news – they had both been nominated to be the Homecoming Queen of S&S High.
No matter what, just even being put on the ballot is an incredible honor in itself. Yet, instead of creating posters asking people to vote for her, Trinity did the exact opposite.
She began spreading the word that she wanted people to choose Emily when they voted, and not her. It was a kind gesture that Trinity wanted to do for her friend.

The night of the Homecoming game didn’t go quite as planned.
During the point where they were going to announce the royal winners, Trinity expected she would hear Emily’s name be called. However, that’s not what happened. Instead, she was the one given the title of Homecoming Queen.
What happened next is enough to bring a tear to your eye. In front of the huge crowd, Trinity removed her crown and walked over to Emily and placed it on her head.

They were both beautiful queens that night.
Trinity explained to News 12:
“I decided to give my crown to my sweet friend Emily because she’s always wanted to be a princess. So I decided she deserved it.”
Not everyone would have been able to make a selfless move like Trinity did, although it’s not the first time we’ve been stunned by a teen sharing their crown. The incredible memory is something that Emily will always hold dear to her heart!

It transformed into an exciting moment the girls were able to share together.
The two happy Homecoming Queens did everything side by side with Emily wearing the tiara and her friend wearing the sash.
Trinity recalled in her interview:
“We got to hold hands and we waved at everyone, and we blew kisses to everyone on the Collinsville side, they were really excited for us.”

After Meredith McCown posted the story on her Facebook page, some viewers left comments about the unforgettable act of kindness.
One person pointed out the fact that Trinity’s parents did an amazing job raising their teen.
“Trinity’s parents did it right, what a great daughter they raised! They should be so proud! Great heart!”
Another believes we should maybe take a lesson from these young ladies.
“Beautiful friends! Thanks for sharing the way we all should treat one another.”

While the internet is full of good deeds that pull on your heart-strings, this is one that’s extra sweet. Watch the video below to see Trinity hand over the crown for yourself!
