The great thing about YouTube is how the platform doesn’t impose ridiculous standards and limits on who can share content. You have videos of adorable animals playing and showing off their antics, toddlers babbling about adorably, preschool age kids dancing, singing, and showcasing other talents, and adults who share everything from helpful home and beauty hacks to recipes and DIY tutorials. There’s an even older demographic that’s taken the channel by storm, too.

Malinda Herman and her pet, Jewjam are why the Facebook fan page “Old Lady and Little Dog” was created.

Always with a pleasant smile on her face, Malinda loves doing covers of classic songs like “Put Your Head On My Shoulder” and “Moon River”.

Things are never boring at home. And being on quarantine never looked so peaceful.

As long as Malinda has her guitar and Jewjam beside her, everything’s just peachy.

The charming old lady is far from camera shy.

Always calm and ready to just strum her guitar and sing, Malinda’s gentle disposition has captured the hearts of viewers the world over.

She did inspire a fan page followed by over 300K users.

Jewjam loves being on camera, too. Except she doesn’t always sit adorably as Malinda sings. On some occasions, she’d much rather bark.

Malinda’s cover of “Let It Be” by The Beatles was everything we’d hope it would be: calming and delightful to watch.

Jewjam’s barking, however, was the contrast to it all. The small, yappy dog seemed to be shushing the birds chirping overhead. Or maybe it just wasn’t in the mood to sit in silence. There’s also a possibility that the dog was attempting to sing along to the timeless track. We’ll never really know.

One thing is for sure, though. Malinda did not mind one bit.

She just continued singing, a smile on her face, and a mischievous dog on her lap.

The duo’s latest video prompted YouTube users to playfully call out the barking dog, while some couldn’t help but throw in a joke or two – about how Malinda just “let it be” that Jewjam kept making noise, or how Jewjam “couldn’t let the birds be” while Malinda sang.

It’s a song that’s been covered countless times, but this particular one definitely stands out.

“When I find myself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.”

Jewjam’s yapping wasn’t the accompaniment everyone expected Malinda to have as she played the guitar and sang. But there’s no denying how adorable the entirety of it all was.

The dog’s behavior and Malinda’s response more or less tells us just how amazing their bond is.

The confident dog obviously feels that it can do whatever it wants, and Malinda responds by, well, just letting it be.
