Grizzly bears are pretty amazing. In addition to being huge and highly intelligent, they are also very curious animals. Their search for food and resources can take them on journeys over incredible distances. In fact, an average grizzly’s home range spans between 1,000 and 1,500 square miles. Now that is a big area!
It is no secret that the bears love to explore and run around, but one thing you might not know is that grizzlies are also excellent swimmers.
That’s why when one man’s pet grizzly bear named Bruiser discovered a pool in their backyard, he couldn’t help but dive on in to take a dip.
The moment Bruiser jumped in was captured in a crazy video that has been going viral all over the Internet, and once you see it, you’ll definitely understand why.
The humongous grizzly bear completes one of the world’s biggest belly flops!
It’s no surprise really that the animal made such a big splash.
Most grizzly bears weigh in somewhere between 300 to 800 pounds, with the biggest grizzly on record coming in at a whopping 1400 pounds.
Bruiser is definitely on the bigger side. The amount of water displaced when a bear of that size jumps into such a tiny backyard pool is pretty impressive. It’s both awe-inspiring and hilarious at the same time.
The goofball bear even spends a few seconds playing around on the paddle board that is floating in the pool.
He certainly knows how to have fun!
It also turns out that one time wasn’t enough for the massive animal. After swimming around for a while, Bruiser exits the pool and gets ready for round two.
He awkwardly climbs up the little ladder which is way too small for a bear of his size and jumps on in again.
If this was an Olympic Diving competition, we would give him a 10 out of 10, although he should probably work on his form some.
It turns out that Bruiser also has a friend. At the end of the video, we see another smaller bear digging around at the edge of the pool. With all that digging, he’ll probably need to take a dive in the pool sometime soon too.
In the summer heat, we can only imagine how hot it gets outside being covered with all that fur.
While the man records the video, the only thing we can think about is how close he is getting to the grizzlies.
Although they appear to be his pets, it still takes a lot of guts to get so up close an personal with such big animals. At one point, we can hear the man joking in the background.
“I don’t have nothin’ for ya. Get away from me wet bear,” the man says as the bear shakes the water off his fur and begs for a treat.
The whole scene is pretty awesome, but apparently, it is just another day in the life of Bruiser the grizzly bear.
The description of the video reads: “Bruiser bear enjoying his daily pool play!”
What a fascinating life this amazing animal leads.
