Dogs are our most loyal companions. No matter who you are, a dog can love you and protect you at all costs. They are genuinely compassionate and loyal to their families -they will do anything for them. They can also be particularly protective over the little ones in a family.
This is a clip of one particular furry friend who is not just a pawed pal, but a devoted caretaker for this little baby. It’s abundantly clear that this dog loves his resident baby and would do anything for this tiny human.
Oh my heart! I cannot handle how adorable this furry nanny is!
When a crying baby comes a’knocking, doggo comes a’rocking!
We can see at the top of the clip that this golden retriever dutifully sleeps near the baby’s cot, napping until the time comes to jump into action. When baby begins to cry our pal is straight up and over the the cot to rock it back to sleep. That is either some excellent training or some serious parental instinct!
But a dog can only do so much…
When the rocking fails, it’s time to call Mom!
Sometimes what a baby wants can be a bit more nuanced than just a few swings of the cot. In these cases, there’s only one person for the job… Mom!
After our golden retriever attempts the rocking but to no avail, he’s upstairs to grab the baby’s mother. He devotedly runs up many flights of stairs to where Mom is washing some clothes. Before she knows it she’s being dragged out by her dress! This doggo is NOT wasting time…
Then Mom is there to pick Baby up and lull it back to sleep. Mission accomplished!
Can you imagine having such a devoted babysitter?
Why pay a teenager to watch your child when they’re likely just going to be texting and eating junk food the whole time… You’re better off with a dedicated caretaker like this! Look at how intently this doggo watches when it’s woken up by the baby’s cries.
What’s wrong baby?
Wasting no time, we can see our purposeful pooch is straight in to attend to its young brother.
Of course, it’s time to get Mom back!
Thank goodness he’s not still tugging on dresses! There’s no way to ignore this attention grab however. This doggo might as well be blowing a whistle and yelling into a megaphone “BABY IS UPSET! EMERGENCY! THEN GIVE ME TREATS!”
Of course, when Mom gets there it’s problem solved!
Our friend however, is still in protection mode and dotes on Baby to make sure it’s not still upset. This might not be a spoonful of sugar, but it is a boat-load of caring!
This doggo’s babysitting skills don’t just stay at home though…
This dog can take YOU for a walk!
What a dream to have a nanny you only have to pay with food and affection! It’s obvious how dogs got the reputation for being man’s best friend, when they just seem to want to help so badly! This golden retriever just seems so happy to help that it’s content being a part of the family.
