Usually, general anesthesia is used before a person undergoes surgery. It makes the body numb for a certain period of time to avoid feeling all sorts of pain during a medical procedure.
But just like any other medication, anesthesia has its own ‘dose’ of side effects.
According to HealthLine, “Most side effects of general anesthesia occur immediately after your operation and don’t last long. Once surgery is done and anesthesia medications are stopped, you’ll slowly wake up in the operating room or recovery room. You’ll probably feel groggy and a bit confused.”

Just take a look at this young woman when she woke up from anesthesia after having her wisdom tooth extracted.
In July of last year, a young woman woke up from the effects of anesthesia. But when she arose from the anesthesia dose, she was met with a delightful surprise when she discovered that she had a boyfriend.
The funny yet sweet moment was captured by Miranda Smith, who recorded a video of her daughter Isabella in Tennessee following her wisdom teeth removal. As Isabella’s sedation began to wear off in the car with her mom, she was informed that her boyfriend Joey was present.
With a touch of adorable shock, Isabella responded, “Really, I do?” when her mom shared the news. Her mother then suggested bringing Joey over which led to a priceless reaction from Isabella.
“He’s so cute!” she exclaimed to her mom.
Isabella, who shared the video on her TikTok page, revealed that she had “a whole crush on my boyfriend of almost 3 years.”
According to Smith, Isabella was still quite loopy when she woke up and had temporary amnesia. The captured reaction was unscripted and completely genuine, offering a heartwarming glimpse into the surprise and joy of the moment.
As of this writing, the candid video of Isabella and Joey has already amassed nearly 20 million views!
On top of that, it also sparked thousands of comments and 3.5 million ‘heart’ reactions from online viewers. The story was also featured in a couple of local news channels and sites.
Although some were puzzled by how Isabella ended up in such a groggy, many were still touched by her adorable interaction with Joey.
The young gentleman sure knew how to handle such a situation while keeping his girlfriend reminded of how beautiful she was. It was indeed a kind gesture from Joey to be there, making sure Isabella and her mom were okay before they even headed home after the procedure.
Even those who saw the viral video online couldn’t help but notice.
“She is so cute! He is so sweet to her! I love her reaction when her mother tells her she has a boyfriend and then sees him! It’s so pure! We need more moments of just genuine love in this world,” one YouTube user wrote.
