Do you ever have trouble with hanging your shirts on hangers in your closet? Are you annoyed by pulling your sweater or shirt off of a hanger and come to find you have another set of shoulders thanks to those obnoxious bumps thanks to the end of the hanger? Well, gravity has met its match thanks to this handy sweater hanging hack. Stretched out necks and uneven sleeves will be a thing of the past. You are going to want to go reorganize your whole closet following this simple and handy method!
You will need:
- Sweater or shirt
- Hanger (ideally a non-slip, felt hanger)
1. Fold the sweater vertically in half.
Take the two arms of the sweater and line them up together by folding the sweater in half vertically. The closer you can get to perfectly in half will be easier to drape the sleeves and bottom over the hanger.
2. Lay the sweater on a flat surface and line up the hanger.
Place the sweater or shirt down on a flat surface, like a bed or folding space, which will make it easier to line up the hanger and fold the fabric quicker and easier. Lay the hanger on the top of the sweater so that the hook of the hanger is placed between the arms and the body of the hanger. Simply put, the hook of the hanger needs to lay in the armpit of the sweater or shirt.
3. Wrap the arms over the top of the hanger and tuck into the bottom bar.
Take the sleeves of the sweater or shirt and bring them over the top of the arms of the hanger. Then tuck the arms underneath the bar. Make sure they are laying flat and wrinkle-free.
4. Repeat with the body of the sweater.
Now grab the bottom of the sweater and bring it over the top of the hanger. Repeat the same process by tucking the bottom of the sweater into the bottom bar as well. Make sure there are no folds or wrinkles.
You are going to be amazed at how easy and quick this process is to clean and organize your closet. Folded shirts and sweaters take up so much room in your dresser and it doesn’t take long for them to come out completely wrinkled. Just as frustrating is hanging them the traditional method and even finding them on the floor of your closet, or with those pesky shoulder bulges. And if you are anything like me, if I cannot see all of my clothes, I completely forget about them. After doing this to my closet, now I can see all of my shirts, and I feel like I just doubled my wardrobe! This simple hack is easy to follow and will fix everything that is wrong with hanging your sweaters and shirts the traditional way. Problem solved!
