The bond between pet owners and their pets can be remarkably strong.
One woman in Denmark found out firsthand just how strong her relationship with her pet dog was. When strolling through a local forest with her dog, a 41-year-old woman was allegedly approached and attacked by a handful of migrant men, whom the police have described as being Middle Eastern or African in appearance. Little did the men know, however, the woman’s dog was very protective of its owner.
According to the North Zealand Police, while the men inappropriately touched and grabbed her, they forgot that the dog was present and gave little thought to the fact that the woman might try to fight back.
As soon as the woman began putting up a fight, her dog took notice and leaped into action to protect her.
According to the woman, her faithful dog lunged at her attackers and even bit one of them in the thigh before the group of men fled the area.
News of the attack shocked readers around the world.
The dog’s heroics prompted many to share their thoughts and support on social media platforms, including the Facebook page of Mad World News, where one reader posted the following comment:
“Outstanding. I also feel safe with my dogs. I call them my alarm system. Three gorgeous Rottweilers Molly. Rhasta and Maestro. I first started raising them when I was continually harassed while working in my front yard garden. At three months old, my Rott Oso scared the bezeegus out of them and it stopped. I trained him as a guard dog. Could bring a man down in three seconds.”
Another reader commented, “So awesome!!!! Good for her and A big kudos to her dog.i am so glad to hear this awful story has a happy ending and those idiots didn’t get to follow through the crime.”
Another reader added the following, “Women needs to protect her self and her family a get herself a gun and shoot anyone that is trying to do harm to her and her love ones!!!”
This isn’t the first time in recent years that a pet has saved its owner from an attempted sexual assault, however.
In fact, back in 2014, a woman was relaxing in her home when an intruder broke in and attempted to rape her. Fortunately for the woman, before the man could go through with the attack, her cat jumped into action, literally. It jumped onto the intruder’s back and clawed the man until he fled the scene. Police were later able to track down the attacker thanks to the cat’s scratch marks and ultimately arrested him so he couldn’t attempt a similar attack on another unsuspecting woman.
Dogs and cats alike are remarkable animals, and in both of these incidents, they showed the world just how strong the bond is between a pet and its owner. They are living testaments to how far our furry friends will go to keep us safe from harm.
