โWhy are dogs so gosh darned friendly?โ I often wonder to myself.
Maybe it has something to do with evolutionโ we kept picking nice, friendly dogs, and breeding them other nice, friendly dogs, until we got even nicer, friendlier dogs. I mean, it would make sense, right?
I honestly have no idea, and apparently, researchers arenโt quite sure either. Some suggest some kind of gene variant; others think they may have been domesticated twice.
Whatever the case, all I can say is that this dog is definitely one of the friendliest!
A tiny, adorable French bulldog in New York City got acquainted with the unlikeliest of friendsโ an NYPD police horse!
The improbable friendship was captured by a passerby and uploaded to YouTube, where it has since received over 4.1 MILLION views.
Itโs an oldie but a goodie, having been filmed in late 2011โ around the time when the Occupy Wall Street movement was still in its prominence.
As the video begins, you can see a crowd huddled around a brown police horse. Look closer, however, and you see a French bulldog who looks like he wants to join in on the fun.
The tiny pup jumps up and down, seemingly trying to get the police horseโs attention. While the horse remains professional, a hint of intrigue is definitely present in its eyes.
Soon, the scene cuts and you see the pup jumping up to the horse, as they sniff each otherโs faces. Although the dog is (reasonably) hesitant about being up-close and personal with such a large animal, he quickly gets over itโ noticeably grinning as they press their heads together.
Throughout the video the French bulldog can barely contain himself, hopping up excitedly and doing animated spins and flips in the air!
While researching this article, I actually learned that dog-horse friendships arenโt as rare as I had thought!

It doesnโt matter what kind of dog or what kind of horse, in the end, the results are always the same: equally freaking adorable.
While the bulldog jumps around, playing with his newfound friend, you can hear spectators discussing the scene.
