If your dog panics and gets stressed out during fireworks and storms, then this new invention will make them happy!
Ford, the innovative company that literally invented the car, may be in the process of designing something almost as essential.
Only, while the car revolutionized human transport, this new invention will revolutionize dogsโ happiness.
But what is this invention?

Itโs a kennel. Does that sound disappointing? Well, it shouldnโt, as this new kennel has some incredible design features that will block out the noises that dogs find so distressing.
The kennel utilizes the same technology that goes into cars and headphones to create noise cancellation.

Ford has already successfully implemented this technology its current generation of cars. And spurred on by this success, its engineers and designers are looking for other applications.
Clearly, many of these Ford employees are dog lovers. Anyone who owns a dog couldnโt help but want to use the noise canceling technology on their own pooch!
โIn my experience, 50% of dogs do show signs of fear with fireworks.โ โ Graeme Hall, dog trainer.
So how does it work?

Basically, there are a number of microphones inside the kennel that are programmed to detect fireworks and other similar noises. Then the kennel will relay different sound frequencies inside the kennel, which would reduce the stressful noises.
And other technology in the kennel stops the vibrations (which also contribute to dog stress) from resonating inside.
โSo while humans celebrateโฆ dogs can finally relax.โ Ford
So where can this kennel be bought?
Sadly, the noise canceling kennel is still conceptual at the moment. That means that thereโs a chance that this product may never make it to market.
But the appeal of the product is obvious. Thereโs a good chance that the noise canceling kennel will move into the refinement and finally production and market stages.
But is the market for these kennels really that big?

In one word, yes.
There is already a market in selling services that reduce pet stress during fireworks.
For example, some rural hotels make a lot of money on New Yearโs Eve and the fourth of July by letting dogs stay to escape the noises.
Itโs a strong bet that dog owners would buy something that makes their dog happy while eliminating the need to travel miles and miles away from home.
And even if this kennel never makes it to the production stage, something good is certain to come out of Ford.
Thatโs because it has launched something called the Ford Initiatives, which aims to use the technology that goes into its cars to solve everyday problems.
โWe wondered how the technologies we use in our cars could help people in other situations. Making sure dogs and their owners could enjoy a stress-free New Yearโs Eve seemed like the perfect application for our Active Noise Control system, and we have a few more ideas in progress as to how our everyday lives might benefit from a little Ford know-how.โ โ Lyn West, brand content manager, Ford of Europe.

It could be that all manner of everyday issues are solved thanks to Ford in the near future!
Even before now, Ford has a strong track record in using its technology in an innovative and globally useful way.
For instance, it was the first company to use 100% recycled fabric for the seating in its cars. And many of its cars are more than 80% recyclable.
