Since the winter of 2018, one very special video has managed to rack up over 14 million views.
Romi and Bharat got engaged in the most unique way.
Bharat wanted to surprise his girlfriend with a public proposal – but not just any bended knee gesture would do.
The setup took place in London’s busy Leicester Square during a winter festival.
Romi was headed to London to meet up with a friend and had no idea her boyfriend was even in the country.
But when a random couple stopped and asked her to take their photo, it became clear that there was a performer in the background.
A man in a blue hoodie was flashing some epic dance moves while shoppers walked by.
But people began to stop once two women joined in and the synchronized dance was clearly the start of something much bigger and more impressive.
Three dancers soon turned into 5 and it was clear to onlookers that this was worth stopping to see.
They even busted out some old school breakdancing moves to rile up the crowd even more, including Romi.
By the time 8 dancers were hitting the pavement, it was time for the real surprise to begin.
They all headed out of the frame and came back seconds later donning masks. Kind of creepy, but it does look cool.
Club Mob, the company that organized the flash mob at Bharat’s request, wrote on their YouTube video:
“We had an absolute blast preparing for this very special flash mob in Leicester Square…because Romi had no idea her boyfriend, Bharat, was even in the country, so we knew it would be a major surprise! But even better was the fact that Bharat turned out to be a pretty great dancer, which he kept quiet until his rehearsal with us, where he blew the whole Club Mob team away. It was his idea to wear masks, and the crowd in Central London went wild when his identity was revealed, and Romi couldn’t believe her eyes. Congratulations on your engagement guys!”
Suddenly there was a mysterious 9th person in the mix – and it’s pretty clear who that was.
At the end of the dance number, the confetti flies and we see that it’s Bharat behind the mask.
Romi never could have imagined that this entire performance was for her or that her boyfriend was one of the mysterious masked street performers.
But she gets used to the idea pretty quickly when her boyfriend steps into the crowd to take her hand and explains what’s going on as dozens of onlookers film the moment with their phones.
Romi looks a little embarrassed, but mostly surprised to see her boyfriend who was supposed to be in another country!
And she was most certainly stunned when she saw that it was all an elaborate engagement proposal from her boyfriend.
Bharat got down on bended knee and asked the women he loved to marry him – and as you might imagine, she was thrilled to say yes as the crowd cheered on the young couple.
