Moms have one of the toughest jobs. Between taking care of the kids and taking care of all of the errands that life requires, there is always something to do. It’s certainly not easy, but luckily, moms aren’t entirely alone. Most of the time, there are always others that are able to step in and help out when you need it most.

While normally, we reach out to friends and family when we need assistance, sometimes even total strangers are willing to offer up a hand.

That is what Rebecca Paterson found out recently when she was out shopping at Target. She told her heartwarming story in a group for mothers on a Facebook group called Moms of Pearland, TX.

Both her two-year-old and her two-month-old started throwing tantrums in the store at the same time and Rebecca didn’t know what to do.

However, another shopper saw her struggling and came over to say hello.

“Shout out to this wonderful, kind woman named Tiffany.” Rebecca wrote in the Facebook post.

The woman can be seen in the photo holding Rebecca’s 2-year-old son up against her shoulder comforting him and calming him down.

“My 2 year old and 2 month old were both having a meltdown at the same time in Target. I started putting things away on the shelf and was about to leave when she came over to help,” said Rebecca.

It’s always stressful when the kids start going crazy in public.

Rebecca figured her only option was to just put everything she needed back on the shelf, leave the store, and hopefully, try again later. However, the stranger named Tiffany saw what was going on and asked her if she could help. As a fellow mom, Tiffany completely understood how difficult it can be shopping with two toddlers in tow.

“She walked with me while I got the essentials needed for the day and kept hold of my toddler while he calmed down,” said Rebecca.

The two then continued around the store together and worked as a team to get through the shopping trip.

The stranger’s act of kindness made Rebecca’s day.

“She saved me today moms!!! I am so sleep deprived and was running on empty. A little kindness and understanding goes a long way. I’ll definitely be paying it forward if I see a poor mom in need of help. Thanks Tiffany, you’re an angel,” said Rebecca.

Once you have kids, sleepless nights become a very real possibility. Add in all of the other demands of life on top and it can get very stressful at times. That’s why Tiffany knew she had to help. Although letting a random person hold your kids is a case by case judgment call, in this situation it made total sense.

Even though the two had never met before, Tiffany shared a common understanding with Rebecca — being a mom is hard. Now, Rebecca just hopes that she will one day have her own opportunity to pass the kindness on to someone else.
