A young puppy found himself in a perilous situation as he struggled to escape a river in Dej, Romania.
The dog was on the verge of drowning when two fishermen risked their lives to save him.
In their heroic rescue, one fisherman removed his shoes before entering the water and securing the dog. Though the dog is in distress from the situation, it allows the fisherman to take hold of him and lead him to safety.
As the fisherman moves towards shore, the dog follows diligently behind. Though panicked, the dog has put his trust in his kind saviors.
Finally, the fisherman grabs the dog by the scruff of his neck and carries him to his partner.
(Don’t worry – the dog is not in any pain from being carried like that. Not only did the dog not show any distress from being held by the neck, but dogs and cats actually have more skin around their neck for the purpose of being carried by their scruff by their mothers.)
From there, the puppy is safe and sound back on land, and the end of the video shows how grateful he is.
The dog prances around with his tail wagging, showing his endless thanks to his heroes for being saved.
Clearly, the dog recognized that the fishermen put their lives on the line to help him, and he is eternally grateful that they did.
