Something good always comes out of the slower pace that the holidays bring (or being in quarantine for months) – we’ve all become neat freaks, obsessing over how clean and organized our homes are.

From barely glancing at the faucet to suddenly furiously scrubbing at water stains and disinfecting the entire sink, it’s a change that definitely transformed our living spaces (and ourselves!) for the better.

You may not be having people over anytime soon but there’s just something so satisfying about seeing everything… spotless.

Out goes the dirty rags, the greasy containers, and the unnecessary items you’ve hoarded over the years. It’s time for an overhaul! But what about the other things? The ones that are seemingly so impossible to clean?

Yep. We’re talking about the oven.

The one that’s seen different food come and go, the one that’s done a stellar job of heating your cravings through, and the one that’s gathered so much gunk and spatter that wanting to see it clean again seems like mission impossible.

While there are countless oven cleaning solutions available at the supermarket, they’re not really the kind you’d want in your home.

They’re effective, sure. But they’re also made of numerous chemicals that are far from safe.

These cleaners tend to be so harsh that they cause your eyes to water and your throat to itch. That’s why they come with glaring warnings. They’re not exactly environmentally friendly either. These can burn your skin almost immediately, so imagine what breathing it can do. Yes, they promise results, but they also require quite a lot of work. Think an hour or so of scrubbing.

Because what’s more important than a clean oven is a healthy household, and having harsh cleaning solutions around just counters that.

Thankfully, brilliant minds that have seen the worst have discovered safer alternatives for keeping your oven clean. The best part is, they so generously shared their hacks on social media, too!

After combining all the ingredients in a spray bottle, just spritz some on the oven, let sit for 30 minutes or so, then wipe clean.

You read that right. Just wipe clean.
