We all know that dogs are manโs best friend, and every day there is a dog out there proving this fact to be true. Everyday there is a family pet out there that does something so human-like, proving their loyalty and love that it takes itโs owners completely off guard. There are stories all the time of dogs saving lives, but this particular instance was surprising and heartfelt all at once, mostly because this big dog senses danger before the adults filming. Luckily, it was also caught on camera, and went viral after being posted online

It looks like this girl in a blue dress is innocently playing near the water, while her parents look on from behind the camera. Some might say that she was getting a little too close for comfort, but it was harmless, her parents were nearby filming a cute part of their afternoon. One member couldnโt take her being that close to the water any longer, but it wasnโt the parents that reacted, it was the German Shepard near by. He gently grabs her with his teeth by the back of her dress and pulls her away from the edge. But he goes a little further and pulls her halfway up the bank, a little too strong since she tumbles just a little a safe distance from the deep water.
What comes next is something the camera didnโt show before. After he pulls her to safety, the dog goes back to the shore and wades back the water to fetch a ball the the little girl had been eyeing. He brings it up to his owners and the family gets on with their afternoon, accident free. German Shepards are often viewed as intimidating, but loyal dogs, so itโs reassuring to see an animal like this sense danger and know to be gentle with the little girl.
The video almost looks staged, the way that everything played out, and itโs hard to tell if the dog was trained to do this. Either way, itโs heartwarming to see animals and children interact with one another. Itโs clear that this big dog has a big soft spot for his smallest master.
