A shaking and wounded little pup was left on the streets of Russia, and still, somehow those eyes still carried hope. That pup’s name is Millie and she was found shot with a horrifically dismembered muzzle. They found at least 200 pellets in her furry body, with an ear cut off, and a broken jaw.
The fact that Millie was still alive is a miracle in itself, but she was in desperate need of specialist surgery.
With Millie’s story going viral, donations were flowing through the roof, allowing her to be flown from Russia to the UK. Sharing Millie’s story all over the world had people’s hearts melting and hoping she would find a loving home.
After surgery Millie’s snout was left extremely shortened, making her tongue hang out from her mouth. But that couldn’t even destroy the vibrant spirit of Millie. Her cheery personality was infectious and would not be stopped. Millie’s magnetic energy had her new owner Kasey Carlin connected to her infinite sweetness.
With all odds against Millie, she still continued to smile while wagging that tail of hers.
It’s quite amazing that the lives of animals can also inspire the lives of humans.
Millie’s story will have you reconsider pouring money into puppy mills when there are so many pups in animal shelters desperate for a loving home. The volumes of Millie’s story has reached people all over the world and this is only the beginning.
An ounce of love truly goes a long way when rescuing these incredible survivor pups.
The severe problems in Russia have left people in an uproar ready to rescue the dogs left on the streets. In Russia, stray dogs are a common thing to see on the streets of Moskow. But, with minimal shelters and strays being known as “Biological trash” according to The Guardian, dogs have been selfishly murdered. People have even feed them poison, leaving strays dying a slow painful death.
It’s heart-shattering to know there are people out there that don’t even consider animal lives to matter.
But, this should open our eyes to know we have the power to help animals without a voice. Organizations like @wild_at_heart_foundation have come together to rescue these pups who need the help they deserve.
Millie is one fortunate pup, and it’s time to help many more pups just like her! Thank goodness for Millie’s new loving owner Kasey, giving Millie not only unconditional love but two siblings to wag with. Those siblings of hers have also been rescued and now have each other to play with.
It’s beautiful to know these dogs who once were lost without a home are now safe with an owner who cares.
