Dogs truly are a man’s best friend.

Even during the darkest times, they always know how to cheer us up, and sometimes that includes serenading us with a special song.

Now many people are familiar with the moving power of Adele’s voice, but I bet they’ve never heard this unique rendition of her popular song, ‘Hello.’

Buckeye, a sweet dog from Florida, howls the ballad, ‘Hello’ by Adele while in the car with her owner. With emotion, Buckeye passionately sings the popular single, hitting many of the high notes and placing emotional emphasis on words such as “anymore” and “apart.” And, while Buckeye sings mostly to the camera, she ends her performance on a somber note, looking down at the ground.

Her video has become an internet sensation, with the soulful canine receiving more the 85,000 views on YouTube. Since its release, the video has gone viral, with viewers editing their voices alongside the dog’s beautiful pitch.

The single, originally released in October 2015, has gained worldwide popularity, making history on the Billboard Top 100 Chart for holding the Number One spot for over 20 weeks. The artist tied other popular female vocalists, such as Celine Dion and Kelly Clarkson, for the longest Number One run among women since the list’s initiation. Additionally, ‘Hello’ set the record for the most digital downloads in a week, racking up 1.1 million downloads within seven short days.

Buckeye’s performance, seen below, will give you all the feels, demonstrating that even dogs appreciate quality music. Plus, it’s simply too cute to handle.

While we don’t exactly know how dogs interpret music, researchers have tried to formulate answers to how and why dogs sing along to musical melodies. Some researchers claim that it is part of an instinctual trait, in which dogs want to be apart of a pack or group, so they emulate the vocals they hear. Others simply say, that dogs howl along to sounds they find enjoyable.

Regardless of the reasoning, we are all guilty of singing in the car, but based on this performance, I’m pretty sure this dog knows a thing or two about heartbreak.
