The adorable white pup Trixie tragically disappeared from her owners’ house over two years ago. Tammy and Thad Crews didn’t expect to ever see Trixie again, but luckily, the lost dog has been found.

After two years and a journey of a whopping 2,200 miles, Trixie and her owners were reunited.

The adorable puppy went missing about two and half years ago, and owner Tammy suspected that Trixie might’ve been stolen. She recalls that Trixie crossed the street to greet some workers in the area, after which she disappeared.

When all hope seemed lost, Tammy and her husband Thad received a letter from a veterinarian in Turlock, California.

She received the very surprising news that Trixie had been found alive thanks to the microchip that was injected into her.

The veterinarian told them that Trixie was actually found alone in a Walmart parking lot. Both parties made arrangements in order to set up a reunion. Trixie had to fly more than 2,000 miles to the Nashville airport in Tennessee.

Tammy sat very anxiously in the baggage area, waiting nervously for the much-anticipated reunion. When the woman heard some squealing in the area, she didn’t know whether it was a dog or just a wheel that was making noises.

However, it didn’t take long before she realized that is was indeed a dog that was making the noise. When she spotted an employee carrying a dog carrier, she became very emotional and burst into tears.

When little Trixie saw her owner for the first time in over two years, it was very clear that she wanted to leave her cage as soon as possible and get right into her arms. Airport personnel needed a few extra minutes to make sure everything was in order, but the relieving moment when the cage opens and these two reunite is truly heartwarming.

Trixie and Tammy gave each other a very large hug and the adorable pup even gave her a few licks.

“She’s so little. She’s lost a lot of weight”, Tammy says emotionally.

Luckily, this disappearance had a happy ending – albeit a quite lengthy one. Trixie now once again resides with her loving owners and three other canine members of the family. One of the other dogs, Stella, is now even keeping a very close eye on her.

“The second they smelled her they knew who she was,” Tammy said.

The reunion could take place thanks to the determination of Glena Jackson, an employee of the Turlock Animal Services where Trixie was taken when she was found. Glena even drove Trixie for two hours to an airport in Sacramento so that the dog could leave on a plane to return home.
