While hunting ducks on a frozen pond, this dog got a nasty surprise.
A dog fell into a frozen pond after trying to hunt some ducks. According to the video, this incident occurred in the city of Kastroma, where temperatures get well below freezing. A crowd gathered to watch in horror as the dog struggled for its life trying to pull itself free of the deathly cold water.
In the video, you can see that the dog has given up, lying unresponsive on the ice.
Rescuers had little time to figure out a plan.
One man, pictured below, rushes forward to save the dog – but the most amazing part? This unidentified hero was not only shirtless but he also wasn’t wearing any shoes.
The man lies down on his stomach to help reduce the risk of breaking more ice and immediately sets to work on grabbing the dog. Frightened and cold, the dog barks and snaps at the man until finally, the seemingly impossible happened.
Within 30 seconds of reaching the dog, despite its fear and aggressive behavior, the man manages to pull the dog to safety.
You can hear the crowd shouting encouragement to this heroic man as he tries to both save this dog and not get bitten. However, within moments, the man finally gets a good grip on the dog and pulls it out of the freezing water.
