Dog pees on electric fence and is completely filled with regret
We all have our derpy moments. I wonder what the owner's excuse is.

Have you ever asked yourself why dogs sniff first before they pee? Itโ€™s a common denominator among almost all dogs, wouldnโ€™t you agree?

A website says that dogs usually sniff the ground before they lay down their waste or pee because theyโ€™re trying to know if there have been previous pooches there before. They sniff to choose the best spot for their thing.

According to Pet Parents:

โ€œScent marking is one of the most amazing instinctual behavior of dogs. Your fur baby deposits his own odor in his pee (or poop) in his surroundings to mark itโ€™s his territory or to make a statement.โ€

This video shows exactly that, but with a plot twist.

Cruel or not? You be the judge.

A video captured an innocent black dog hanging around an electric fence when suddenly natureโ€™s call was heard. What happens next could be one of the most bizarre, yet curiously idiotic things youโ€™ll stumble on today.

Trying to find the right spot.

A seemingly normal occasion takes place when we see this black doggo sniff the ground trying to look for a place to mark his territory.

Dogs marking their location is a completely reasonable behavior when you consider that it lowers their anxiety in unfamiliar locations since they can associate ownership with the scent. No harm, no foul on their part.

Things start to take a twist for the inevitable as the pooch begins to inch closer to a fence. As heโ€™ll soon demonstrate, this is no ordinary fence.

The area is clear and he is ready to mark it as his territory.

After giving the area the optical pat-down, the dog decides heโ€™s finally spotted the โ€œperfectโ€ target. Oh, if only he knewโ€ฆ

He then approached the fence, raised his right hind leg in preparation, erected his instrument of chaos, and thenโ€ฆBZZZ!!!

The poor pupโ€™s obviously stunned by an electric current from the fence.

He runs in a flash towards his owner whoโ€™s recording the whole thing.

What made the dog owner do it?

As he takes a moment to look at his master (who honestly deserves reprimand and feedback for actually letting his poor dog suffer his own demise), he wonders what exactly happened back there. Yea bud, we wish we could give you the answers too.

There is some debate as to how the dog was electrocuted.

From the video, viewers have concluded that the dogโ€™s hind leg was caught on the fence and led him to be electrocuted. Some would argue it was the electric current running up the stream from the fence (yikes!).

No matter what school of philosophy you choose to follow, both roads of logic lead to complete confusion.

Thankfully, all is well for the shocked dog.

It seems the dog recovered swiftly judging from his interaction with his master. โ€œWhat was that?โ€ said the man as he chuckled. While it was fortunate the dog was not seriously harmed by his ineptitude, thereโ€™s really no excuse for this dog to be the subject of a cruel joke.

In truth, it should have been the master to help the dog when he needed leverage. All we can do is be hopeful that this was a one-time lapse in his routine to instruct his dog properly.

In his final moments of reflection, the doggo looks back in disbelief. He observes where it all happened as if he is in search of the reason for such madness.

Regardless, the pup will never forget the experience that reminded him that not all territories can be freely conquered simply by oneโ€™s own whim. Heโ€™ll have to pick and choose his battles more wisely.

The viral video sparked questions and arguments among dog owners. While the reason behind the electric fence is not confirmed, we can all tell that its sole purpose is โ€œprotectionโ€. However, testing it on a poor pup is still not reasonable to do.
