Dogs have a really great sense of hearing. They can hear sounds four times farther away than humans can. They can tell where the sound is coming from. Plus, they can also differentiate sounds quite easily.

Dogs are quite particular about their music.

If they don’t like what they are hearing, they’ll let you know. Just take the case of one funny Golden Retriever. He has the most hilarious response to his owner’s skills in playing the flute.

The Golden Retriever was pretty chill that day. He was lying on the floor and was clearly enjoying his quiet time. But when his owner started playing the flute, he didn’t think twice about letting her know his thoughts.

The girl was only through the first few notes of the piece she’s playing when the dog let out a what seemed like a groan.

At first, she just smiled at the dog’s reaction and continued playing.

As she played more notes, the dog continued to let out a few more groans. That’s when the girl lost it and laughed hard. To tease the dog even more, she placed the flute on her mouth and started playing the instrument again.

And just like the first time, the dog let his feelings be known.

What’s funny about the dog’s reaction was that he didn’t even lift his head or turned around to look at the girl. He just stayed on the floor and groaned each time the flute was played.

It was as if he’s not really liking the sound or he’s just upset that his nap got interrupted. Whatever his reason was, his reaction was surely funny.

Good thing that the girl was super alright with her dog rejecting her skills. She didn’t feel offended by her dog and she certainly had no hard feelings over the rejection. In fact, she found the dog’s reaction quite amusing.

Dogs, like Golden Retrievers, are pretty loyal. So even if this dog wasn’t that impressed his human’s talent, there’s no way he’d leave her for it. He might groan at it but he’ll never leave her side- even if that meant enduring long hours listening to the flute.

On why dogs growl to music . . .

Dogs howling and growling to music isn’t a new thing. You’ve probably watched tons of videos about it already. You see, there’s a unique and amusing reason why dogs react the way they do when they hear such type of music.

The music produced on wind instruments, like clarinets, flutes, and saxophones, is believed to induce howling and growling. Experts think that it’s because the sound created by those instruments sound like proper howls to dogs.

So when they listen to it, they feel the need to join. However, the sound they produce will be on a different register and they will stand out. It’s the same thing that happens when a group of dogs is howling. No one in the pack like to end up on the same note as everyone else so they change their pitches.

In the meantime, this funny dog is giving everyone a laugh with his “comeback” to his family member!
