This dog just couldn’t wait to meet her neighbors, so she broke through the fence and introduced himself!

Meet Bailey, she was rescued by a family back in 2017 during Hurricane Harvey. She quickly fit in with her new dog brother, they would play in the backyard together running around all day. Even when she wasn’t playing with her brother, she’d be running around by herself.

Until one day she got a new buddy, a dog named, Shep, moved in next store and the two became fast friends. Bailey and Shep would play all day together through the fence, only if there was a way they could be together.

The athletic dog would hop onto the 4-foot flower bed, peek over the fence and say hello to her new friend.

The dogs continued to play through the fence every day, Bailey would even leap onto the 4-ft high flower bed to get a look at her new friend. The two dogs also both dug low enough under the fence to be able to touch noses.

There was still one problem for the dogs, they could only play through the fence, they knew there had to be a way to finally be face to face. Soon, Bailey would find a way to break through the fence for an unscheduled play date.

“They first really started noticing each other around May. It started with some digging, and I noticed they had each dug low enough to touch noses under the fence. They’d also run [along] the fence together when they were both outside. It was playful and fun.” Said, Bailey’s mom, Tessa Holmes.

Thanks to some loose boards on the fence, the two dogs found a way to break through, finally, they could play face to face!

One day when Bailey and Shep were playing like always, they came across some loose boards in the fence and wasted no time breaking through the weak spot. Shep, who is a large German Shepard, squeezed through the fence and they finally were playing face to face.

Even when Tessa tried to put Shep back in his own yard and prop the fence back up, he just broke right back through! The two weren’t ready to stop playing!

“I tried to put Shep back in his yard and prop the boards back up by leaning a big log against it, but he was back within five minutes.” Said, Tessa.

After the two dogs broke through the fence, the neighbors decided it would be better to just schedule them some playdates. Shep and Bailey get to play together all the time now and don’t have any plans of going through the fence anymore!
