Dancing docs take on Tik Tok with fun moves to lift spirits

Dancing is a great way to lighten the mood and bring happiness to your heart, especially during this pandemic that’s altering life as we know it. One doctor at OHSU in Portland, Oregon, is posting hilarious dances on Tik Tok with his colleagues to help bring positivity amidst all the negativity.

This is so incredible, what a great way to keep their spirits high!

Dr. Jason L. Cambell is a doctor at OHSU hospital, who is going viral for posting uplifting dances to Tik Toc during COVID-19 pandemic

When Dr. Cambell started doing these funny dances, it was just to make people laugh while promoting slowing the spread of the Coronavirus and give people alternate ways to great each other. But the dances quickly blew up after Janet Jackson posted them Twitter, and we can see why.

“Cute,” read the one-worded caption on Jackson’s Twitter, soon they were spreading like wildfire.

The “Tik Toc Doc” is an anesthesiology resident at Oregon Health & Science University Hospital, who made up the ‘Corona Foot Shake’

Since the dance has gone viral, several big-time media outlets like CBS News and The Oregonian have done stories on him Dr. Cambell and the infectious dances.’ This is amazing, you can tell Dr. Cambell and his colleagues are having a great time breaking it down.

In the dance, you first see Dr. Cambell and one of his colleagues roaming the halls of OHSU while doing hilarious dance moves. The video then flashes to him and another colleague, they use their feet to greet each other by kicking them together many times and even doing a cool backward kick-shake.

The third dance in the video shows Dr. Cambell and the same colleague practicing social distancing while dancing

They kick their feet, roll their hands, and smoothly move their bodies, all while keeping the CDC recommended distance of 6-ft. With massive smiles’ on their faces,’ they go through the dances’ together giving people some hope during the rough situation.

Even though Dr. Cambell has been dancing since middle school, his fellow hospital workers have no problem keeping up with him move-for-move.

There’s a great need for some kind of positivity in the hospitals, and these dances help the staff forget about the heartache for a minute

With hospitals all over overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients, it’s easy for the workers on the frontline to forget to smile. Dr. Cambell talked to The Oregonian, alongside Dr. Mike Aziz. and thanked people for all the support they’ve received.

“We just wanted to thank you for your outpouring of support for our dances.’ We hope during these tough times it’ll be something to smile about and give you a chance to have a reprieve from what’s going on in day-to-day action,” Said Dr. Cambell.
