Do you remember your high school dance team?

It’s a popular after-school activity for young dancers across the country. But a lot of dance teams aren’t that impressive. And that’s understandable – they are mostly there to give girls an opportunity to be physically active and try something new. They’re just kids after all!

However, some dance teams go above and beyond and perform absolutely amazing routines. That’s just what the Southlake Carroll High School Emerald Belles dance team did at one of their recent performances. This kick routine was synced up just perfectly, and it left the whole crowd cheering almost the entire time. And now? The video has been viewed over 3.5 million times!

The dance is set to the classic tune “Sweet Dreams” by Eurythmics, and the combination of the choreography and the costumes make for a creepy but captivating performance.

It’s clear that a lot of work went into both the choreography and the practice that must have been involved. Due to the hard work of this group of girls, the team’s performance went out without a hitch and it was hauntingly beautiful.

But it wasn’t just the team’s high school that saw the performance. Somebody filmed it while it was happening and then uploaded it to the internet. That’s when it went viral almost immediately. People couldn’t believe how talented these dancers were, and they were thrilled by the performance. In fact, the team has gotten quite a bit of recognition because of this video.

The dance starts out with the dance team out on the floor, arranged in a pattern.

It seems like every dancer is doing something different, but they’re all equally impressive. Then, they start all moving together, creating an effect unlike anything you’ve ever seen. It’s incredible how on point they are, creating a stunning visual performance. It must have taken hours of practice to nail this down so well!

During the routine, there are several series of high kicks. It’s impressive that bodies can even move that way!

This kind of move isn’t easy to do, as a dancer must have the appropriate balance between flexibility and strength. If they aren’t strong enough, they won’t be able to get their legs all the way in the air. On the other hand, if they are not flexible enough, they won’t be able to kick that high. Therefore, this display of athleticism really speaks to the girls’ level of skill on the dancefloor.

Luckily, while all of this is happening, the team has a supportive crowd. As soon as the girls break out in dance for the first time, the crowd goes wild. Friends, classmates, teachers, and others all seem to thoroughly enjoy the performance.

But that may be because this performance wasn’t the Emerald Belles’ first showstopper.

In fact, this group is an award-winning team that has videos posted all over the internet. All of these performances are just as high quality as this recent viral post. It’s clear to see why the Emerald Belles are getting so much recognition. They are clearly working hard and are finding a lot of success. Who knows? Maybe some of these girls will go on to be professional dancers someday.
