If you’re a country music enthusiast, you’ve probably heard of Cowboy Calvin. For those who haven’t, he is what is best described as “a genuine hay baling, tractor driving, bull riding country singer and songwriter.” (Source: Silent Giant Entertainment)
The artist got into country music because of his Uncle George’s influence. Apart from family, the military also played a huge role in how Cowboy Calvin’s love for country music developed. He loved the camaraderie of soldiers from the South, more so their taste in music which he believed was “the perfect reflection of his ideals.”
“I live in a small town; I love my country, people, and God. All of the things I loved, country music loved. We just fell in love with each other.”
Sounds like a fine gentleman, right? That’s why Cowboy Calvin was an immediate crowd favorite from the get go.
The friendly, down to earth musician just loves to dance and interact with people. That’s why it comes as no surprise that a Cowboy Calvin sighting is always followed by fun times over great music. His way of incorporating today’s fresh dance steps and music with traditional country music and dancing makes him a one of a kind act.
“I see myself as a country artist who has a foundation of country, R&B, hip-hop and current genres. I’m big with line dancing, and two-stepping. I like to move – I’m a two stepper, renegade, El Paso, cha-cha promenading son of a gun.”
And speaking of sharing good times with people who love his music, he was spotted at Bull Shed Bar and Grill in Bakersfield, CA doing what else?
Dancing, of course!
Since Cowboy Calvin prides himself on being an artist who always makes sure his audience gets up and dances at each show, it comes as no surprise that even customers at the bar gamely stood up and danced with him.
“I want to be known as the artist people come to see to have a good time. You’re not going to come to my show and sit down; you’ll have to get up and have an experience.”
While this was a pretty great description of how he is as a musician, it’s clear that even when he’s not performing onstage, Cowboy Calvin has the charisma and irresistible charm that draws people to him and compels them to dance with him without any hesitation.
The ladies aren’t the only ones who can’t resist the Georgia born artist, either. Because he remains down to earth despite being in the music industry, even the toughest of cowboys aren’t the least bit shy about hitting the dance floor and showing off a couple of moves with Cowboy Calvin.
The country artist’s unique sound, southern charm, friendliness, and confidence are some of the many winning traits he’s known for. Considering he’s already pretty tied up with making music, booking shows, and pursuing even more in the music industry, it’s refreshing to see the cowboy still getting down on the dance floor with everybody else.
