The moment fall hits, you can find pumpkins everywhere. But while we’re used to them being part of the season – one adorable puppy was puzzled by the strange, orange fruit.
Get ready for cuteness overload.
A female artist who goes by her online alias, JackieOcean, uploads fun artistic crafts and tutorials to her YouTube channel. However, one day, she decided to share a clip of her 9-week old Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy named Bilbo, and his hilarious reaction towards a miniature pumpkin.
Jackie might have been preparing for Halloween by bringing home the pumpkins that she was going to carve. When she put a teeny pumpkin on the floor, she was able to witness Bilbo’s reaction.
Wait until you see how angry the pup gets at the pumpkin.
It seemed odd for Bilbo to have a random round thing lying on the floor. He knew it wasn’t his ball going by the tiny stalk on top. After seeing the unnatural object in his territory, Bilbo began acting up. He started barking at the pumpkin expecting it to react.
However, as the tiny pumpkin remained idle, Bilbo became even more annoyed. He tried bopping his nose on its bright orange body, causing the pumpkin to move slightly. Although, it really did not change anything at all.
The corgi patiently waited for something to happen. But as one might expect, the pumpkin did not fight back.
Bilbo dropped to the floor after a series of attacks on the little pumpkin. Although, he kept his eyes fixed on it, waiting for some response. Unfortunately, he got nothing. He eventually got impatient and started barking at it again.
Bilbo tried to slap it with his tiny paws but his legs were just too short to reach it. He then stood up and examined it closely in a furious manner. The pumpkin just bugged him so much that he couldn’t let it go. Their adorable interaction was cut short after a minute, but who knows how long Bilbo continued to deal with the small pumpkin!
This attitude is normal for a Corgi.
Corgis are bred as shepherds. Despite their short stature, they are smart, obedient, and have a big dog personality that makes them perfect for herding farm animals and guarding homes. They are usually territorial and protective, which explains Bilbo’s behavior towards the pumpkin.
Seeing the odd thing just lying around the house triggered Bilbo’s guard-dog personality, and he was just probably trying to drive the pumpkin away from his home. Given Bilbo’s bravery and confidence, he could grow up to be a wonderful guard dog.
This is the perfect time of year for the video, which has become somewhat of a classic.
Due to its level of adorableness, it’s racked up more than 4.5 million views. One person commented:
“Still one of the cutest videos on the internet.”
Surely Bilbo and the pumpkin eventually became buddies. But for now, enjoy when they are mortal enemies in the video below!
