Cat owners around the world are finding “Conversations You Have With Your Cat” spot on. The video has been watched over 74 million times – that’s one watch for every time your cat has ignored you.

From standing directly in front of the television to headbutting the phone while you’re using it, cats really know how to steal the spotlight from whatever you’re trying to watch.

Jack, the orange cat in the video, is no different. He’s also a serial litter scatterer, but a pretty cute one.

And while the owner in the video wonders if she’s a crazy cat lady, anyone with a feline friend has had the same set of conversations with their furry beast.

Try to shame your cat for not contributing to the household only to get cat butt in your face as a reply? Check.

Wonder if that look means your cat loves you or is planning to eat you the minute you fall asleep? A common worry.

Love to cheer your cat on while it goes after a toy like the murder champion it is and then mock it for not understanding the futility of trying to catch the red light of the laser pointer? Yep.

Despite not having much to say back, sometimes their silence is golden – like when you want to vent about how your mom just doesn’t understand it costs money to come home for the holidays.

Your cat doesn’t want to be left alone anyway and is there to take your side (or at least their blank stare can easily be interpreted as support).

We’ll never know what our cats think of us, though many cat owners suspect it’s a combination of love (on their own terms, of course) and utter disdain. Perhaps luckily, we’ll never know.

What we do know is these furballs have a lot of personality. Hundreds of commenters on the video posted photos of their cats or stories of their hilarious hijinks.

The common refrain is that owners are willing to put up with all manner of property destruction and utter confusion as to how their cats got up onto or into something.

In fact, cats have extremely complex brains, the majority of which seem to be used for evil. But isn’t that part of their charm?

It’s clear they’re working some sort of magic on us. There’s even some research that suggests that a parasite found in cat feces can infect the human brain and cause subtle changes in behavior (although most stories are overblown).

This could explain why we put up with having all of our things knocked on the floor by the creature we’re happy to share a pillow with 5 minutes later.

That’s just how love works when you have a cat.
