It’s always fascinating to us what people do with their free time outside of work. While for some people, their career is everything, for others, it’s simply a means to an end that allows them to dedicate more time to their true passions.
It’s amazing how many ordinary people there are out there with extraordinary talents completely unrelated to their careers.
One of them is this incredible construction worker. When the man happened upon a random piano in an airport recently, he couldn’t resist stopping for a few minutes to show off his true talent — playing the boogie-woogie.
The man sat down and started playing an improvised jam that caught passengers by total surprise and blew everyone’s minds.
The mesmerizing moment was all caught on video and later posted on YouTube for the whole world to enjoy. If you are a music lover, you have to check it out.
“Builder makes up a beautiful melody for the crowds at the Station. The melody has no name, it’s just a spontaneous improvisation,” the video description reads.
The tune that the construction worker created is a mix of classical and boogie-woogie styles that is both delightful and melancholic at the same time.
“It’s like he’s playing the soundtrack of his life,” one YouTube commenter wrote.
There is no denying how talented he is. If the man ever gets bored of building, he definitely has a new career waiting for him in the music industry. The people in the terminal seemed to agree as well.
Within minutes, a large crowd started to gather around the man to watch the impromptu act.
They couldn’t believe it! Here was a random construction worker in full uniform, perhaps on his lunch break or something, stopping to put on a concert-quality piano performance for free. Despite the fact that everyone had flights to catch, they all paused to watch anyway. It was obvious to everyone how special the performance was and they didn’t want to miss it.
For over four minutes the crowds were serenaded by the gifted man.
Many pulled out their phones to record the show, while others simply stood quietly taking it all in. A piano-playing construction worker is pretty much the last thing anyone would ever expect to see in an airport. However, all of the videos recorded prove that it happened.
Since the YouTube clip of the jam was posted a year ago, it has gone on to accumulate over seven million views.
It’s pretty awesome how many lives the man was able to touch. We imagine that was never his goal though. Throughout the whole performance, it’s like the construction worker was in his own little bubble, completely oblivious to what was going on around him. He was entirely absorbed in the music.
Unfortunately, though, all he had time for was one quick tune. After he finished the jam, the crowd gave him an enthusiastic applause, but the builder knew he had to get back to work. He picked up his newspaper, nodded to the audience, and ambled off on his way.
